not true. it is interpreted as pitch bend. in fact it is program change. receiving program changes is not supported by live.

strange. then you should try some midi monitoring software to check out what is wrong and on which stage of routing. i forced my "program change" knob on my korg zero4 to work with midiconverter3/live with no problem.
without described routing/conversion it gives me also unmappable pitchbend as your kp2.

whatcha looking for?
i've been pretty dormant, there's a monome emulator and another patch the outputs midi notes in scale, plus an unreleased "kaoss sequencer" that will allow for sequenced kaoss action and rapid effect / parameter switching. trying to fix up that last one, but i could release a bare-bones version if you guys really want it. it's just a little "thin" right now in terms of gui and slickness but the general stuff is there.

To thoffir
It work now with program change on the input of midiconverter. I followed your instructions and it's received as cc 32 by LIVE.Except inertia parameter on midiconverter as to be set at 0. YES!
Now I set it at coarse tuning in live and I have steps of 8 bpm (120-128-136-144) I'd like to have 2-4 bpm steps...
Do you think I could program midiconverter better?!?
I can use the FX DEPTH KP2 button to do the fine tuning but this blocked rotary knob only move of 2 bpm...(total up and down)
Any way
I'm about to have it!
Thank thoffir! 8 bpm step is good!

MIDICONVERTER3 work for Korg User.
to salamanderanagram
I want to dial the tempo of Live 8 with my infinite program change knob of my KP2.

i had "inputs" set from 0 to 7 as i have 8 position program change knob on my korg zero4, not endless encoder like on kaoss.
i would start from keeping everything like you have right now and change
"high input" from 7 to 127. that should do the trick for you.
and upgrade your kp2 to kp3.

on kp3 you can send tempo from pad to live with no problem (through midi out or usb) and kp3 works nice as midi controler as well (beside its generic sampler/effect usage).

Hi thoffir,
I find my way do it! In Live midi enabling window, unfold the window to the right until I see min-max value. I was set to 20 to 999 bpm, I reduced it to 40 to 280 and the steps are now from 2 to 3 bpm!
Thank so much thoffir midi master !
My gig will be so much easier tonight!

i'm tryng to do something similar with my ESX (having the esx send program change on pattern change so i can select the right scene in live by changing pattern on the esx, and midiconvert is not working
when i select midiconvert as teh input of the other track, no data is passed, as if it was expecting to receive audio, not midi, and when i select post fx instead of midiconverter, it passes the data unaltered
any idea
live 8.2.1 osx 10.6.7
