So the measure is set permanently to a certain amount?
....And damn, no motion sequencing

So recording filter sweeps isnt possible?

No, the total number of measures can be set from 1 to 99 for each of the 16 patterns, but you can only start at measure 1. It would be extremely handy to have a measure skip forward and/or backward option.

Only start at measure one? Please explain.

Sorry for so many questions.

That's ok. I mean there is no way I've found to skip measures in the pattern sequencer. You can only start playing a pattern from the first measure in the pattern. The SP-505 sequencer has more transport controls in comparison, including next and previous buttons which skip measures within a pattern. With the MS you get a play and a stop (not pause) control and that's it.

Augh, okay. Thanks for clarifying!
MS: a nice concept, but failed.

microsampler was a nice concept, but failed.
personally, 430 euro for this machine are wasted.
there are 2 possibilities to make future users happy:
1) lower the price to 250/300 euro
or
2) make a massive development on EDITOR and FIRMWARE..
too many things lacks.. but many of thoose things are so stupid and easy to fix!
at moment, microsampler is just a funny "sample player" wich doesn't mean it is a SAMPLER!
my opinion

Well, at least one good feature you should like is that it seems to be retaining a high resale value on ebay. There's always another way to make music and everybody has their own methods for success. I've gotten pretty comfortable with the MS over the past month and enjoy the new process it has introduced to my studio. As a solo piece it isn't completely developed yet, but with a computer it can be a beast of a tool. For that much money it is definitely worth shopping around though...there's a lot of options for samplers in that price range these days.

But none that have a keyboard & mic built in as far as I can see - which is where the MS has the field to itself - faults or not.

... to the top of the thread: You can't motion sequence as you can with ElecTribes, but, you can re-sample and do the tweak to capture the "motion" as it's affecting your pattern or sample as a new sample.

Although you can't "motion sequence" as such, you can export the pattern as a midi file, add CC info corresponding to the two FX param controls then reimport it. You'll then find that the pattern responds as if the controls were being tweaked.
Just a useful thing I discovered, could be useful.

@pep4: If you're looking for more sampling convenience go with the microSampler, but if you want more FX control go with the KP3. The SP-555 seems like a sturdy sampler and the Boss FX are always quality, but it's still a pad based control. I personally like having the keys now better than pads, that's me though. If you have a laptop in the mix the MS makes a handy controller for Energy XT (or whatever software you use) for use in a gig setting. It really boils down to what you're more comfortable playing on and what aspects you need more control over. My opinion, for sampling choose the MS, for FX choose the KP3.
