I would also wish they came out with a new electribe, but i would rather add a few feature than make radical changes:
- endless knob with led positioning like the ones in the Akai APC40
- 1 recall button (press it along with one synth button and all its settings go back to last save, and if possible with 1 or 2sec fading effect).
- 1 knob to change speed ratio of ARP ribbon (1/4, 1/8 of BPM...)
- 1 hold button for the ARP ribbon
- get 2 real stereo output with effect/tube on it.
- read/load midi file
- rec button start at first note sent
- 1 volume level knob for headphone
That would make my life easier and would nt change much of the Electribe spirit, nor the cost.
I certainly would like to change other things, but i do not have those in mind right now, but if you think of something, be my guest.
costi_ebay wrote:Hi everyone,
I am sure a lot of you guys would like to have a new Electribe, powerful and updated to the technology of 2010.
Also I am sure Korg has the power and resources to do it, so lets make a petition signed by all of us electribers and send it to Korg. Lets lead them to give us an answer eventually, if they plan to do a new one or they finished the Electribe series forever!
Korg must know that will be a lot of buyers for a new fresh and updated model, lets make a information campaign, on all the forums, on youtube, all the places you can imagine!
And lets make a virtual Electribe with all the decent things we would like to have on it. Please let them know your wishes for this new electribe and even drawings with all features you would like to be inlcuded.
For example I would like to see on a new tribe with above specs, these specs are included in more of the actual gear on the market including in the Korg one.
Specs:
1. One single model (not two) with sampling and synthesis (from EMX, microKorg or Radias). Sampling should be used also in the synthesis chain (like wavetables)
2. Sampling should have one shots and loop mode. One shots sampling have a loop lock for continuous play
3. Polyphony on synthesis and on sampling
4. In loop mode to have stretch and pitch algorithms (for every kind of sound sources: beats, bass, voices etc)
5. 16 channels
6. Every channel should have the option for one of the three modes: synths, sampling and loops
7. Tubes must be kept and have free routing configuration
8. More swing options
9. More velocity options
10. Using wav streaming technology like Roland Sp-404, Elektron Octatrak, Beat Thang hardware, so the wavs have to be loaded in real time from the 32 Gb SD card and don't have any loading time, memory limit or compression procedures. Or at least to have the system included in the new Yamaha Motif XF, 2 Gb flash memory, but I think the first option will be much much better...
11. USB type-B connection for:
A) memory transfers for samples, midi files, patches,
B) audio recording to and from the computer
C) acting as sound card
D) midi connections
12. Computer editor and VSTi editor so we can use it easy in our DAWs in perfect sync
13) 8 outputs 100% configurable (I know 16 will be hard cause of the costs)
14) The unit must receive midi CC#, so we can use controllers for all the parameters: volumes, filters, start and end point of the sampling, pitch, FXs values etc. Maybe, if is not to hard to implement, to have a USB type-A for midi controllers that don't have midi ports, like Korg Nanos (Beat Thang hardware will have this included when will be out)
15) Resampling everything, including the computer and through tubes. And if it possible to record it in real time and playback like the SP-555 or as a loop machine
16) Kaoss pad FXs algorithms, 2 sends FXs and 2-8 inserts FXs (depending of the costs)
17) More filter options, similar to Korg Zero mixers and why not the including the Monotron filter in the audio path
18] Pads must be velocity sensitive
19) Turntables inputs besides normal inputs
20) Spdif in/out. Eventually Adat out for all the 8 channels
21) The step sequencer must have the option up/down (from note A0 to note C8] and to be able to enter notes to create polyphonical sequences, similar to MC-909
22) To be able to have a special mode for every channel, a sequencer step-lock like Elektron machines, so we can have on every of the 16th step different parameters like pitch, filters, FXs, start and end point of the sample
23) Possibility for locking the Mute and Solo button
24) All the recording modes like the MicroSampler
25) A button that in combination with every of the 16th steps to give us 16 variations of the current pattern
Looking forward to your feedbacks and your ideas regarding a new Electribe and how we can determine Korg to do it!
