I use styles and not midis on my live rigs... i make my own styles, sample my own sounds and pads with multislices and never needed to use 32 bars on a variation.... certainly pa is a arranger workstation.... but it is made to work on a base of chord changes by the user and not to have the changes recorded directly on the variations except for short intros or endings... what i call to this is sequenced songs .... in other words midifiles..... why do you think they developed the midi markers....? for users like you....

That's exactly what I mean. How your handle your gigs, or how you think a song should be performed is just the matter of personal needs. Music is just way too diverse to be subjected to stinky limited rules by few users. There are no rules about how a song should be recorded or performed. The fact that you as an individual never seen an Intro longer than 32 bars, or you've never needed to program one, or you think you should use midi with markers vs styles might mean nothing to someone else. I think that's fair enough. There's always some common ground for all, but that's about it. As soon as you try to come up with hard rules in music, you fail.musicrazy wrote:I use styles and not midis on my live rigs... i make my own styles, sample my own sounds and pads with multislices and never needed to use 32 bars on a variation.... certainly pa is a arranger workstation.... but it is made to work on a base of chord changes by the user and not to have the changes recorded directly on the variations except for short intros or endings... what i call to this is sequenced songs .... in other words midifiles..... why do you think they developed the midi markers....? for users like you....
