brand new 2011 software for KORG PA arranger keyboards
Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
Thank you Amiri, really pleased you like my efforts.
There has been tremendous response so far from all corners of the world and it is great to be in touch this way.
Of course one cannot expect every one to be completely satisfied ,after all it is my personal taste and programming that you get.
Therefor I would like to point out that, as mentioned in the accompanying manual, it is wise to load all of my software (BKP)and play about with it for a couple of days. Make notes of the things that you really like, styles, certain sounds, complete performances, etc. and (unless you want to retain it all) reload your own set and insert all of the things from mine which you really like. It is a bit of a chore admittedly but nothing compared to the job I had to do !!! And it does pay in the end to make that effort.
There are different ways in which you can do this and for those who want to learn more about it I will write a short manual after Christmas!
For now I would say JINGLE ALL YOUR BELLS !!!!!

Thank you john
I have loaded the whole set and it works fine. I have not had a lot of time to experiment. However the styles I have played seem full , if you know what I mean and they sound good.
I will spend time over Christmas exploring further. In the mean time ,
many thanks and a Merry christmas to you. For those of you who havent downloaded this set I suggest you do AND respond accordingly.

hello,
Many folks have meanwhile sent a request for my new Musical Resources and
I have received many compliments from people all over the world which is encouraging. Thank you.
It turned out there were quite a few problems with the BKP file for the PA-2X which have now been solved. I owe a big thanks to Willem Hershbach here in the Netherlands and to Dennis in Australia for their terrific support and patience to solve this problem.
Do not forget that all of my programming was originally done on the PA-550musikant. Anyway the correct BKP files are now available for all current PA models.
May I avail myself of the situation to wish you all a peaceful Christmas and lots of good health and general well being for 2011.
And lots of music........of course !!!

Hi John
Is it posible for you to make the BKP file to a SET file?
then I just need to load the perrformance So I don't have to owerwrite my own setup with you BKP file
I use the XMS software from xprodata in my PA2X .It will take a hole lot of time for me to load your BKP file in my keyboard and and save it as a SET and the restore the data from XMS loading my own SET and first her i can load your performance
Torben
I think many will prefer a SET file rather than a BKP file

It is quite possible. But you are missing the point. Loading ONLY the
performances will leave you with a number of performances that you
definitely will want in your set up, but all of my performances have been
trimmed " to perfection "with the use of the styles that have also been tweaked.
In other words your "laziness " (no offence) will only lead 50% or less of what you should actually be listening to.

P.S. did you send me an email as Vangelis V ?

Just to let all KORG PA owners know that from today onwards my 2011 Musical Resources will no longer be available for PA-2X, nor for free.
Unfortunately it is my experience that most PA owners asking for my Resources have been taking all of my efforts for granted , unwilling to reciprocate. From today onwards I am charging 25 euros (staggering I know....)but there it is. However it does include yet another Bonus PA surprise!!
Interest in these 2011 Musical Resources has been substantial worldwide and so have been the comments. Two comments I would like to include to show the extremes of the reactions to my work :
PA owner 1:
" Donation ? We Korg People do things for free for one another. (....blasphemy.....), You have no character !!! "
PA-500m owner 2:
"...Hello John,
Big thanks for the BKP file and all the work you have done.Have only skimmed the surface so far but I am very impressed. In Germany there are many PA players who have been waiting for a BKP like the one you completed. I have made a donation and hope you will carry on programming. etc.etc.....
Best wishes,
John

That is disappointing to hear John. I know how much effort some of these tasks can take. Well, "PA owner 1" is probably one of those who expect (and insist) Korg to keep supplying new features for free. I would hope that it is not the majority that are like this.johnsmies wrote:Unfortunately it is my experience that most PA owners asking for my Resources have been taking all of my efforts for granted
Unfortunately it seems a rule of thumb that the less you charge for something, the less it is appreciated.
Euros 25 is only a couple of coffees with cake.
Anyhow John, don't lose faith and keep up the great work.
I want to look at getting your product for my PA2Xpro next month.
Take care
Pete

I've held back but i HAVE to say this and especially to you John, people might
find it offensive or have feelings hurt but a great philosopher once said:
Only the Truth will hurt you or piss you off...and that is:
On the forum everything is for granted, not only this forum but any forum.
Remember, you wont get a SINGLE CENT from people here on the forum cuz
that is the MAIN reason they are here, to get things for free. The TRUE
customers are not on any forum nor ever heard of any. On this forum you
can either SHARE FOR FREE or DO NOTHING but dont expect anything.
I know this for a fact and i know this BEST, better then anybody.
I am not saying this as an offense to hurt someones feelings, i am just stating
a simple fact. No matter what you do, no matter how much they like it, no
matter how great the product is, they wont leave you a single cent.
Oh...there will be 2 of them that will pop out and confirm that they did so.
And i bet you, hundreds of them requesteed the software from you, i know
for a fact tens are using it or making money out of it and i also know for
a factt NOT EVEN 10 of them sent at least a dollar to you.

Hi Nedim,
Well actually your vision on keyboard-mankind is too dark , for the very reason that just about 10% of those who got my Resources so far actually made a donation, modest but a donation all the same. So there is hope my friend.
But by and large I agree that too many take things for granted and cannot be bothered. I have found out more about the Korg arranger market , Korg itself and the PA users in the last few weeks than in the 10 years prior to these
.
Eventually they will only shoot themselves in the foot cause no one will be willing to programme in depth. You will NOT believe how much ignorance I have come across about the actual keyboard that they are playing on, even when it is a PA-2Xpro.
You also get requests in the vein of : "please send me Resources. I am not very rich so I cannot pay you unfortunately ,but thank you and very happy new year. ". (....somehow somehwere in a forgotten closet they did find a few grand to buy a PA-800 for starters..................)
But the thing that makes all this look like peanuts is what happened to me on the French Korg Forum a couple of days ago (www.audiokeys.net).
I had been on it since early December offering my Resources .
Three days ago I received notice that I was BANNED FOR LIFE for having the audacity to ask fellow PA users for a (note: voluntary ) contribution of about 20 euros for my 80 hours or so of programming.
If it would do any good to get angry about this I would fly into a tantrum, as it is I simply cannot be bothered. It is good to meet with positive views and appreciation on the Forum here from some and on the SynthZone general Arranger forum. After all, it is like you said, by now quite a few will be using part of my progarmming worldwide ! So if we don't die rich , at least we will die famous !!!!!!!!!

JOhn

And what we both just said is actually the reason for the dark vision.johnsmies wrote:Hi Nedim,

You find many people that actually THINK they are programming something
by Changing the Volume on One Track and nothing else and then they call
or become themselfs Gurus of PA. Thats how it all started and it is all due to
Me, Rob and few other which ACTUALLY helped on here. Now, My help, Rob's
help or the few others which was TRUE PRO IN DEPTH help is not valid anymore
cuz few people opened their own websites where they teach others how to
CHANGE VOLUME ON A TRACK but nothing else IN DEPTH besides that, they
still come to US for that...but we are no good anymore. So your InDepth
programming or my From Scratch Sounds/Styles Creating is no good for them
anymore, they want someone who will teach them how to change Volume
on a Track for Free and nothing else besides that. I know this best, i've
created few Series of Styles, some swear by them some dont like them
hey, its everyones opinion but the funny part is...THEY couldnt wait untill
i finished the Styles and when i was done everyone dissapeared, 6$
for 2 DAYS of WORK was A LOT...of course i sold hundreds of those Styles
but as i said, 98% of those customers NEVER HEARD OF KORG FORUMS
or any other forum for that matter...and of course they get FULL INDEPTH
Tech Support by me. Ive done it here, for years, everyone knows and i still
do, i am not complaining about it and i will continue helping but now, to them
Help is not just TELLING them waht to do anymore, HELP to THEM is actually
DOING IT FOR THEM, creating the Style or Sound and give it for free.
I CHALLENGE ALL the good souls in here that are very HUMANITARIAN
and share if the programmed 1 SINGLE STYLE in their lifetime.
Of course they share hundreds of them, created from MIDI FILES, found
on the WEB and TWEAKED, stolen from libraries and all kinds of things.
I am asking for ONE SINGLE STYLE created from scratch, the same way
i've created HUNDREDS of them...i know, this is all to hars but remember the philospher.

nedim and John neither of you are being realistic. John you cant complain about the fact that you practically gave away a product and people took it !
I am not saying this to discourage you . Far from it. Either you are going to sell a product or you are going to give it away. you cant do both !!
If you had researched the forum and asked them what they wanted from your product. Got an idea as to what they would reasonably pay and how best to promote your product you would not be in the position you are in now.
You cant sell a product by giving it to people and then asking them to think of a number in payment for it. You will inevitably be upset with that number. Zero is a number !!
I listened to some of the samples of the work you have done. It didnt blow me away and it didnt appeal to my tastes. But if i had a PA800 and you had offered the product to me for pretty much nothing i would have taken it just to have something more for my keyboard. I would probably have never even used it. But if you had said it would cost me $30 i would not have bought it and i would have told you why. That way you could have either saved yourself 90plus hours of programming or actually programmed something more people wanted and were prepared to pay you for.
Again i am not trying to discourage you. but complaining here because you did not think things through properly doesnt make the reality any more palatable.
Good luck in your future projects (i mean that ).
Best wishes.

Worth, we know each other for a while, you know what kind of person i am
and the other way around...i agree with some of your points, i know i took
it too far but in my opinion i was realistic about certain points. I am far from
complaining, this forum means NOTHING AT ALL to me bussines wise to
actually complain, i am here for friends and to help as much as i can.
But someone telling me to GIVE it away cuz we are friends and thats
Humanitarian also is not right...yes i know not in this Topic but we all know
what i am talking about...and yes, starting a Topic/Poll with whats wanted/needed
is a good idea...to actually see whats up.

John, %10 success is actually pretty good. If you hadn't said that , I would've guessed about %3 or something along that line. You're too familiar with the position you're at right now. You already went through this not too long ago. Just read your own posts, and that will refresh your memory. You went through exact same scenario with the last production. Let me tell you something. There's gonna be a new korg arranger keyboard on the market pretty soon. Let's call it PA3x...If you do the same thing, and at your own risk you develop 500 brand new performances and spend 6000 hours instead of 60 hours, and start shooting e-mails all over the world..etc...nothing is going to change . If you want to benefit from your programming tallent, you need to come up with other ideas.
I suggest that next time you spend only few hours and create just a few performances that could show your magic brilliantly. Maybe one Guitar, one Sax, one lead..or whatever you think people use most, or whatever that could show the best of your programming skills. Then, make a very short audio demo of each performance , one with factory performances, and another with what you've created such that people could easily listen to them and do an A/B comparison. If they were impressed with the difference, then, they can hire you as an individual or as a group to create whatever they want, not what you think they should have. If you had no response, you have the option to continue making more stuff for your own personal use, or stop it altogether. Or Maybe you could explore some other ideas. Maybe you realize Pepole are not all that much into performances and they're happy with what they have. If that's the case, you can put your talent in use in a different direction. What about making rhythm guitar tracks using Guitar mode? Creating popular styles that Korg hasn't been able to cover? ..etc.
