Hi Rikki,
Hope you're well.
I saw the Roland piece. It's their first arranger module since the RA800 that I used some years back. I'd like to learn more about it. A friend of mine plays at the the same restaurant as me - on a different night - with the Roland G-8, and if this module has the same sound engine, it won't sound nearly as good as the Midjay. I like the sounds and styles and many of the PA800 features and wouldn't hesitate to buy a PA based module.

I had RA's also.

I too doubt that that it would sound as good as a Ketron. I don't think it will be as expensive either.
My main gripe with Ketron, was is it's lack of styles & editing functions, hence I haven't considered the Midjay. A cheaper alternative for me would be the VArranger software with the SD2. Unfortunately for me, my SD2 soundmodule stopped working a week before the software came out, so never got to try it. Would have been interesting to hear how a software arranger playing ketron styles, sounded.

I sort of want to use it for BIAB. The sound quality of the module isn't as important as it would have been. A number of the styles now, are audio based. Easiest way for me to use them is to create an mp3 backing track. So the mp3 function could come in handy.

Ideal, would definately still be a Korg.

p.s. did you ever get more styles for midjay ie do sd1+ styles work in it.

Roland still does not have a BREAK FILL!! Deal breaker for me. Although at this point I have ordered my PA3x and that is all I really wanted anyway!!

Where did you order your new keyboard?

Lee have not talked with Frank V or my local dealer yet. I have purchased my KB's from John LaRosa a local dealer in Long Island for many years. He is also a Ketron dealer. The Korg meets my needs. No need for me to change at this point. The PA3x is "Exactly" what I was looking for!! Upgraded vocal processor, 4 fills, fill to varation!! The chord sequencer is a bonus!! Style availabilty will never match Yamaha but for me ... the PA is the one!!
