Simon, if you think about your question, you'll realize that it is impossible. There's no way, that a machine, or a human for that matter, could correctly pick the "absent" bass note. In you example, it could be Bb, G, Eb, C, and maybe others. Unless the listener knows the song, there's no way to guess which one is "correct" unless someone actually plays it.

Dear jg

you are right. I think the only thing I can do is to record a midi song with the chord progression using normal chords and then play along the rootless chords. By the way, does anyone know if I can record a chord progression as a midi file and then loop it in the pa2x sequencer?
