This is a splendid idea. But, no WiFi on Kronos, I guess? USB could work, though.

I was actually thinking iPad WiFi > MAC/PC > USB > Kronos
A WiFi dongle driver update on the Kronos OS (as well as a direct MIDI driver) would certainly be VERY useful.
I guess I should put this into the Wishlist thread.

Before anything else, we need the basic editor to be able to make better use of the Kronos in a software DAW.
Dan, Rick, whoever.
I think it would only be fair to keep us informed about the state of things, while we are waiting patiently.

I was thinking about live usage - to have a bigger display there, that can be slanted however you want.

Agree, from my perspective, the iPad is the way of the future...It eliminates any and all concerns with the screen
it would also be really cool to have something like the Orb for omnisphere that makes it more of a live performance tool.
But just being able to use the ipad in replacement of the screen would be amazing...
its hard to use touch screens (touchview technology is how old) after using iphones and ipads for years now....its just not the same in terms of responsiveness...
But I am happy with the screen as is. I think the recomendations that other forumers are great, but I vote for an iPad version of the editor and would love to see the functionality expanded for live usage.

And the best thing in using iPad to essentially replicate Kronos' UI is - it's multitouch! So if the iPad UI replica was made to accept multiple finger touches, you could edit several parameters at once, on the screen, which you can't do normally!
It's not a bad idea to think about developing this at all. Michel, I don't like Apple, too, but this would be awesome, and you gotta admit that.

Does anyone still remember we don't yet have an editor at all, which could make it to any iPad??
The very first thing that would help me for planning would be a hint from Korg staff about the state of things, and when roughly(!) we might expect it to appear.

Korg are already way ahead of the major players on the iOS platform, and I strongly suspect they have other apps lined up... The Electribe is great fun when I'm not at home, as is the MS20.

Of course I would like that the system would be more open (even for apple). I just don't think it's a good idea to 'have to buy' an apple for using the Kronos well. If they want an external UI it should be developed also for other platforms.

I, too, am waiting (not so patiently) for the editor and VST. Was going to start a thread about it myself. Hope it's a winner!
