"Initialize Set List" - What does it do?

I just checked this to make sure. At least in the most recent version, Initialize Set List in there right where it's expected to be, and search found it as well.

As others have noted, since you didn't write the changes, they were not permanent. You could also have reverted your changes by selecting another Set List and then going back to the first, or by using Compare.
