Oasys not booting up (again)

Six years ago, I'd just got my Oasys back from a repair shop that unfortunately took 3 months to work out what the problem was. Its been working fine ever since, I retired from work in May this year and have been using it a lot with no problems. It started freezing/crashing in the last couple of days, but now just jumps to a blue screen. Wondering if I should get it fixed or cut my losses?
any thoughts?

Hi,
Try to open O and remove RAM bars out for sometime....then return bars inside and try to power on...maybe you got some moisture on contacts ..
I don't know if will solve your problem but it worth to try.

It might be worth looking at the power supply in the Oasys, and checking for correct voltages and noise on the supply rails. There is a chance that the power supply has gone bad.

.

Thanks!

I've taken it to a repairer, I figure its time for some TLC.

It seems the hard drive needs replacing. Anyone know what fits the Oasys these days?

5 weeks in, and still no joy. HDD replacement not easy (needed an adapter), now the oasys wont boot up, after 5 install discs applied. The tech says he's given up!

I replaced my HD drive to an SSD drive almost a year ago worked great and loaded faster. What issue are you having with your Oasys is it getting to the Oasys loading screen or does your screen just stay black.

Problem solved!

The amazing tech's at Watsons in Brisbane were able to bring my Oasys back to life by installing a new SSD, after a lot of research on their part. It's loading a lot faster now. t's frozen once since i got it back, but no other problems.

Hi Mike. I've been watching your Youtube videos, they're helping to relearn the instrument in a big way, thanks very much.

I do have one problem, and that is i have no effect presets. When I go to korg user website I click on the link and it takes me to dealer log on page. here's the link https://www.korguser.net/oasys/download ... p?num=1006

and here's the page it links to:

I got that page, also, but it did download the file. If that doesn't work for you, try this:

Thanks Mike
