I creamed my pants when the original came out. By the time I had saved up enough to consider it, it was gone....

I creamed again when i found out it was back much cheaper. A dream come true....

The wood on the orginal wouldn’t last as long, you can see damage on one of the close-up photos. And it looks pretty much impossible to edit without having the external editor.

The original had better quality/ richer sounds?

Hello Gents,

I've had my WD1 for quite some time but an looking to sell it to an interested party. I'd like to give it to someone who will actually use it and figured aficionados such as yourselves are the perfect candidates. Let me know if anyone is interested.

All the best

Hello Original Korg Wavedrum enthusiasts. I learned a lot from this thread. I hadn't known that they were so rare. My son and I have a small music store in Beacon New York, and we have an original Korg Wavedrum for sale here that we obtained from a local resident. It is in terrific condition with all parts including the rim, the expression foot pedal, the RE1 remote editor and even a high quality flight case. If anyone is interested in it, please feel free to cal us at 845-765-8548.

hey, does anyone know if the original wavedrum has a switch to go between 110v and 240v or do you need a step down transformer for this? thanks

The RE-1 Remote Editor. The only other Korg product to use this was the M3r module. If you're looking for one, it's worth keeping an eye on M3r sales.

My only playable/usable e-drum is my WD 1 that I bought new in the 90's. I just brought it out to my beach shack bedroom DAW-less mini studio and have totally rediscovered it's brilliance in every way. I also have the controller. For now just tweeking the factory patches, but will bring it out too and start making user patches.

I recall going to a Dennis Chambers drum clinic in the 90's which included him giving alot of attention demonstrating this "new drum technology" 8)
