I had to run the update twice as well. Works fine now. Sure wish I could install the additional RAM myself. How hard can it be?

So I would just add…..
12- When powering up look for the OS version in the display. If your still running 1.0.4 then repeat steps 4-11.
13- Enjoy!

Thanks Mr. Alchemist and the rest of you guys. After reading most of the posts on this, and a little help from my friends(sounds like a song title), this baby fired right up the first time and when I restarted and watched the beautiful 1.5 display...wow. It took me a couple of moments to find the double banks. But, alas, everything seems to be fine. I am a very happy camper.

Yes, i had to run it twice too. When this files are put on the USB Stick and
then the update ran on the synth, from this 4 files:
- KRONOS_Update1_5_0.taz.gz (ZIP)
- install.info
- posttar.sh
- pretar.sh
on the USB Stick you get 5 files:
- KRONOS_Update1_5_0.taz.gz (ZIP)
- install.info
- posttar.sh
- pretar.sh
- mnt
Then you have to rerun the update and then it will work.
The "mnt" directory is included in the zip file. If the entire contents of the folder are not copied (as described in the instructions), then yes, it won't work the first time! But, the system will create it, as a fallback procedure, and then it will work the next time that you try.

So to clarify, as to not brick my board, I copy EVERYTHING including the MANUALS folder to the flsh drive?

Thanks Dan. Yeah, I did not copy the mnt. Probably just spaced out.

Dan, kudos to you and Korg. I had downloaded 1.5 this morning, but I needed a winzip type opener. Then I went to work(some savy folks there would have a free opener) and reloaded it on my work computer from the site and...whooa, there was a free trial opener inserted with the update that I did not see this morning. That made it much easier. So thanks, again.

Hi,
What I did to upgrade without any problem my KK to 1.5.
- Downloaded zip file from KORG onto my MAC
- Unzip downloaded file on MAC
- Format a USB Stick with my KRONOS on FAT 32 (Size of stick is 32Gb)
- Go into the directory created after unzip of downloaded file on MAC.
- Copy * to USB stick
- Go to KRONOS and take ALL existing USB peripherals out
- Put USB stick into USB slot
- Go into "GLOBAL" Mode and from the drop down menu select "System Update"
By doing this my update was quick and run 100% first time...
Cheers.

People are really starting threads about bugs and such when they haven't read the instructions? No words...

fyi for those worried about it: I had other crap on my flash drive, including some K song and program files, mp3 files, and other junk, and it worked fine.

+1!
It's ok if you misunderstand something. Can happen to each of us!
But then you go to question mode and not directly to rant mode, as in many threads yesterday. You can't seriously make Korg responsible for misreading the instructions, before even clarifiying on which side the error happened.
I appreciate your excuse, Nedim, by the way, just like your plan to collect and clarify possible issues before posting! Makes it easier for us to come back to normal and discuss open, but without stress.

I followed the instructions to the letter and all I got was the message: failed to locate source drive ? I tried to do this on not one but two fat 32 thumb drives ( a 4 gig and a 16 gig) that were striped of any info.
Please advise and help.
