An update on this:

I found the classic voices (A-D) for reason! They sound great. I supposedly found the Extreme voices for Kontakt but I can't make heads or tails of how they line up to the actual TeX.

However, could I do the following...

Export a 12 note scale of any particular combi as WAV files, then create somehow, a patch for the NN-XT (or whatever Kontakt's equivalent is) that would allow me to duplicate the whole scale. Besides the tube, the Triton is just raising the octave on 12 notes, right? I would still get tremolo wheels, though not custom knobs for LPF or whatever. Would this work? Really what I need is 10-15 custom combis, not the whole TeX mapped out in software.

That might work for an octave or two, but it's not an 88 key solution.

If you try this you'll begin to notice sonic artifacts coming out that you did not intend.

For example, if there's any vibrato or LFO component to the sound, doubling the frequency (1 octave shift) will make the vibrato or LFO go twice as fast, 2 octaves 4X, 3 octaves 8X - at which point things that were inaudible before actually begin to have pitch... and not necessarily one that matches your sample.

Try sampling every third or 4th note, that way the shortening or lengthening required to raise or lower pitch is less noticeable.

There are lots of resources online for sampling methods and techniques, both generically and specific for Kontact.
