what I do wrong ? this is a very difficult way to operate for me...very very difficult...now I'm loosing in the manual pages...and this is the very first time for me! I have had very complex synth, but I' think there is a kind of confusion in the sample and program management section of the Kronos...let me say this....

Hey guys, installing this is driving me bonkers! I'm a Kronos newb, and I read through the section of the manual 3 times about how to get the KSC and the PCG and the OPZ and the OPP in to the Korg, and I STILL can't figure out how to load this 2 program file!
I can get it to appear in the auto load list in the global settings, and the sounds work, but I'll be darned if it doesn't work as soon as I reset the thing, saing "sample not found". What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance all!

did you copy the files to the kronos HDD before you loaded the KSC? I made that mistake the first time - I inadvertently loaded it directly from my flash drive. I ended up making a directory called Sounds and just dropped each subdirectory for sounds (this, the EP, the Orchestral sounds, etc...) in there.Farmogoyf wrote:Hey guys, installing this is driving me bonkers! I think I'm loading directly from the USB stick, how can I make a folder on the hard drive and load from there? That is something I am having trouble doing.jeebustrain wrote:

go to the utilty tab and hit the chevron thing in the upper right. there should be a "make directory" option. From The utility page, you should be able to highlight the whole folder (with the sample folder, KSC, and PCG) and copy/paste into that folder.

Yikes, this is crazy easy! I sometimes wish there wasn't so much in the manual, a quick, easy sentance like that explained it all, thx so much!jeebustrain wrote:go to the utilty tab and hit the chevron thing in the upper right. there should be a "make directory" option. I'll load the files tomorrow on to the korg, now, when I have them loading in the auto load list, do I select the type as "Virtual Memory" to get them to stream (and get the reduction in memory size)?

it's not as simple as that. Check p154 in the Operations Guide. You will basically need to resave the KSC to create the streaming one, then go through each of your programs and remap them to the new streaming samples. I'm not giving you any more detail because I have yet to actually do it myself, but there is a step-by-step in the Operations guide.Farmogoyf wrote:Yikes, this is crazy easy! thx for the fish!
Sounds great. There is some white noise in the background in some samples (C3..B3 in MIDI notation). Thx again!

There is actually an easier way. I don't fully remember where, but there's an option that allow you to remap samples from 1 bank to another for the entire memory of programs... Maybe try Sampling mode or General mode under the "sample manage" tab ?jeebustrain wrote: ...
