Looks like its just a re- program of existing sounds. Im bilingual and most spanish speaking countries refer to any tweaked sound as a sample.. The laymen of course. I hope Im wrong though...

A couple of months ago this video confirmed the ability to load samples in the Krome...

http://vimple.ru/9b4253ad495946e389e00fa13a7b53b0

... and now we can confirm ourselves with the samples of the dealer's Korg from Peru. Some programs use Krome waveforms and other directly used the samples load in the RAM through the SD card.
Now it would be interesting to know how we can create our own samples, this is the question...

Could you read the contents of this card on a pc and confirm there are sample files contained on the card??

Could you reply with the file extension types?

I do not know the extension name for a Korg wave sample, perhaps spme one here knows

The card SD contents many files of sequences (.SNG), one file with the program sounds (.PCG) and two files (META.IMG and SAMPLE.IMG) which suppose to have the samples used for the programs.

From the Krome MIDI implementation document:

Code: Select all

+-----------+-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+---------+
| PCM OSC MULTISAMPLE1 PARAMETERS (8 Bytes) |

|1004 | Type | 0:Off, 1:Multisample | 3,03,00 |
+-----------+---------------------+-------------------------------------------------------+---------+
|1005 | Bank | 0:ROM Mono, 1:ROM Stereo, 2:VMT Mono, 3:VMT Stereo | 3,03,01 |

Whatever VMT is in the case of the Krome... Anyways, I'd read it as a possible means of using samples stored on the storage media, whatever that is (SSD? SD card? Flash? whatever...).

Krome is much better than Triton. Ignoring things like the sampler (Krome also has ability to load samples) the ribbon, the individual outputs and the aftertouch on keybed, everything else the Krome wins, is better machine.

VMT is korg's term for Virtual Memory Technology i guess. the same the use for kronos to stream samples directly from a solid state disk.

this may explain how sample are handled even without additional ram.

So what is the definitive answer here? Can the Krome accept sampled files through the SD card or not?
