Well, that definitely sucks (too bad that don't have loaner Kronoses) but it's better than if it were, in fact, a bug with the keybed. Best of luck and I hope you get it back shortly...
Cheers!

Got a call today from the service center telling me Korg just received the strips. They have to be shipped and then installed in the Kronos. Says it'll be another two weeks.

Stupid question: my Kronos is no longer under warranty period. What if I buy a Kronos X keybed from an official service center ? (France)...
I'm also thinking in buying the Kronos X motherboard to prevent 'allocation song' problem described out there... then my Kronos will be a bastard Kronos X...

don't you have any faith in your local service center to fix your Kronos ?

Is your current keybed causing you problems?
My second original had really nice action it was just one note that had a velocity problem, of they had fixed that, I would have been more than happy to keep the original Kronos.
I now have an X and the keybed is superior to my two previous ones (most notable is exact perfect even spacing between each note) and it works flawlessly (except for a couple of notes that have an annoying rattle, but I only notice them late at night when the volumes down), but if it wasn't for that one note Korg couldn't fix on my original Kronos, playability wise it would have been fine.
As for the motherboard, I will get one as a backup as I intend keeping my Kronos until either I die, or it becomes unrepairable, I will also at some point get each of the plastic push buttons as on the Triton, these became scarce. But I only intend to have these as backups for 5-10 years down the line just in case the parts are no longer available.
the fact that I will go to these lengths, shows how much I do really love my Kronos

My experience with Korg, ( and to some degree with Roland and Yamaha) is that the boards are definitely worth keeping about 3 or more years.
By the 4th year, there is a new or next generation board that is inspiring. Thus the Kronos is likely to become eclipsed by an exciting new board in the next 1-2 years.
