## PA3X OS 1.6+ - potential bugs list ##

Hi Pete,

Is the latest OS more "tolerant" of which type of USB device is used than the Pa2x? On the Pa2x you could NOT use any USB device with a hidden partition. This is an important and annoying "bug" because users in general do not know if the USB device they purchased has a "hidden partition" ... because it is "hidden" !

To resolve this would require a change to the USB device driver inside the Pa3x. If this has not yet been done, then can I report it as a "bug" to be fixed?

A resolution of this "bug" would involve at least informing the user that the USB device has a hidden partition and is incompatible with the Pa3x. Ideally a resolution would not care about a hidden partition and would ignore it.

Mobile phones of course contain a "hidden partition" in their USB device implementation and this may explain why they do not work as storage devices for Pa3x OS upgrades. But Sandisk and Kingston USB sticks also contain "hidden partitions" and they cannot be used on my Pa2x either.

Certainly on the Pa2x, if you try to do an OS upgrade with a Sandisk or Kingston USB stick, then the OS upgrade starts and leaves the Pa2x in a corrupted and unusable state. So it is really a big "bug" and a disaster for users who are unaware of the problem.

I dont think it's the problem because it worked perfectly with my pa2x and the 1.5 OS version. The problem appeared after the update to 1.6.

I have big problem with O.S.1.60.
Keyboard midi road can't send message to sempler for function “Quarter Tone Sub Scale”. O.S. 1.50 no problem.

I musikant version of OS (v1.6) one can found two the same sounds. I mean sound called: Real Folk Git ST that is duplicated, and can be found in Factory sounds (P6) in Gitarre group.
What is more both sounds exactly the same.

I think this is a bug (its certainly not a feature).
When playing manual bass, if you raise the octave of the bass (so that you dont have stupidly low notes), when you turn off manual bass and start playing the style normally again, the bassline now plays up the octave too! Now whilst this might not be technically a bug, it is a glaring omission. Its not a "wish list" thing, its essential to be able to use the entire 76 notes in a sensible fashion and not be hampered by a system that was designed for a 61 note keyboard! Cmon, these cost $4200 up here in Canada, this is basic stuff!

I have upgraded to 1.6
There is a bug in mp3 player. I don't know whether this happens after playing a couple of MP3 file or it's just random
When I play a MP3 file and most of the time I play the keyboard at the same time... after a few time playing different files the player stops playing any mp3 and I have to use the other player (Player B for example) but even that one stops and even switching to styles and switch back again doesn't help and I need to restart the keyboard.
This happens almost every time I play a mp3.

- Software bug in Styles Mode and STS properties.
The issue happens when 4 STS of the same style have different finger mode settings , for instance :
If STS1 is set to expert fingered mode & STS2 is set to 3 fingered mode then system conflicts settings and when
changing from STS1 to STS2 , still insist to function in expert mode regardless the settings of other STS of same style !

- Software bug in Styles Record Mode that affects split STS sound's lower octave.
This issue happens frequently when you try to transpose any style's track (+12 value) in Record mode and when
save & Exit then by big surprise you will remark that all styles STS lower split sounds have been raised an octave !!!
This can be solved in next restart or re-entering in Record mode , transpose any track - 12 semitones and exiting
Record mode (without saving style).
Both issues still insist since 2 years !!!

- Software bug in Song Play Mode during reproduction of a chosen mp3 .
When an mp3 is copied in HD ( to eliminate USB stick issues ) and while playing and operating Play/Stop,FFD & RWD
tabs for some time , by 33 % of cases reproduction will be frozen and we need to reload mp3 to recover player !

I have annoying bug on myh pa3x which "MUST" be fixed, somehow...

I play in style mode only because I only play live, no MIDI etc... I only change to "SONG PLAY" mode during breaks to play some background MP3 songs, but, when I get back to "STYLE PLAY" mode, all tracks volume of the style automatically set "0" value...

This does not happen every time, but happened few (6-7) times in past 6 months or so.

I could not work out other way to fix thib but to restart the instrument which is very annoying, keeps me standing there in silence for a few minutes until it restarts.

Hope this will get fixed.

After style editing in record mode, lower track just plays on maximum volume in style play (when exit from record mode),until I go to "sound" mode and then back to "style play"

the second PA3x ive been given. The first one had a sick mic audio in.
This new one worked great for a month and then today starting up
the screen went totally grey static no KORG on the display
i had to shut it off pull out the plug reinsert it start and it works fine
but i am worried this will happen everytime i start the unit

I am talking about below doubled items:

Mic Lead Voice Lev
Mic Harmony Level
Mic Double Level
Mic Filter Level
Mic uMod Level
Mic Delay Level
Mic Reverb Level
Mic EQ Gain Low
Mic EQ Gain Mid
Mic EQ Gain High

Could you check how does it work in your case?
Have you got the same?

By "double" I mean that some items which can be assignable to the sliders are localized twice on the dropdown menu list. These are the same predefined items.

I hope that my explanation is understandable.
