HI everyone, I just logged in. Having gone from a Nord Electro 3 to the SV-1, I don't regret my decision.
Here is my analysis of both:

Pros for my Nord Electro 3: compact, cool red, great combo of all essentials sounds (B3, Rhodes, Clavi, Wurli, Mellotron, strings and synth),
Cons for Nord: non weighted keys, touch button for drawbars suck, piano sounds were not authentic- rather pricey

Pros for SV-1: Authentic Sounds and vintage feel, weighted hammer action keys which can be softened for organ feel, Pre and post effects on vintage dial format- affordable.
Cons for SV-1: rather heavy for gigging, no drawbars, specific fine tuning needs to be done on editor software (I never use this anyway) needs more synth, horn parts (hopefully new sound pack 3 will be released.

Ideally, I'd love to get an external drawbar with MIDI input to use.

External drawbars are available for 300 bucks. Not sure if it's compatible

There aren't too many waterfall controllers, but there are plenty of light controllers that should work fine. I think the Novation 61 SL Mk II feels nice. At lower cost, I like the Samson Graphite 49, if 49 keys is enough for you. Also, though, you could use a board that has sounds, which could do double duty for you, triggering the organ and also providing sounds of its own (or backup in case of trouble). The Yamaha MX is a light, low cost board with lots of good sounds (available in 49 or 61 keys). Or a King Korg gives you VA synth and maintains a kind of SV1 vintage vibe. Eventually, though, if you're really getting into organ playing, I think you may want something where you can manipulate drawbars, like that XK1C or maybe the new Numa Organ 2. If you want a more vintage look, you could look for something like a used Korg CX3 or Roland VK8... not current state of the art, but will still sound great with your Ventilator. Heavier, though.

SV1 organ sounds cannot be controlled with drawbars.
