Hi Busch or others

I have managed to download and unpack the rar/zip files now correctly, put the contents on a USB stick, and tried to load them in the Kronos.

For some reason, the sample files in the sample subdirectory won't copy ; Kronos gives an error message. The other files are ok

I have done numerous copying with the same USB stick on the Kronos, so I am wondering what the trouble is. The SSD is far from full either. The USB was formatted on the Kronos also. (I'm using a Windows based environment)

Does anybody had the same experience, or what might be wrong here?

Your advice is appreciated

Kind regards

Hi Busch

In the meantime I have solved the issue why these samples were not copying to my SSD. It seems I used a too long filename/pathname (SSD\UserSampleBanks\FlameStudioGuitars\FlameStudioGuitars1 etc), which apparently is too long for the OS
When I made the directory name shorter (FSGuitars) there was no problem and I could copy without a problem.

Your samples sound fantastic. I advice everybody to try them out. This is good clean base material which allows you to play around with effects to get the sound you like.

Thanks for these great samples!

I'm looking forward to trying these.

It would have been nice though to listen to a couple of audio examples on the site before downloading and installing etc. I know it's a lot more effort but it really does make a difference when you're going through many different packages, free or not, to not have to actually load them all before you know if they are any good.

Of course I'm sure these are brilliant.

Apologies for the silly question, but...

Post by Daniel Kinnaird »

I'm wanting to load the Flame Studios Guitars/Basses onto my Kronos X. When I go to load the the .PCG file from the first collection it says that 1.9G of memory is required an I only have 1G available.

When I click on the 'Media Info' tab it says that the Internal HD has 32G of 56G available?! Am I getting RAM confused with memory or am I doing something wrong?

Try this. First load the _Userbank.KSC. It should only require a small amount of RAM. Then load the .PCG file (by default it will load into User-G).

thank you SO much for sharing this with all of us. it's amazing the calibre of people found in this forum, so much so that they are willing to give up their hard work to the community for free. I'm no sure I'll use these sounds since guitars are not something I frequently need, but still...

I'm so God-blessed as a musician for owning a Korg synth

cheers!!!! :D

Thanks Busch,

Attempting to load the .PCG file causes the same issue of insufficient memory...

Ok,

It seems a lot of people are making this mistake. Do NOT load the .PCG with the box selected to also load the .KSC. This tries to load the .KSC fully into RAM. Instead load the .PCG without the the checkbox selected. Then load the _Userbank.KSC. You should see that this requires much less RAM as it is now using virtual memory.

Busch ... I loaded the PCG files OK and am trying to load the userbank KSC files, the screen says it's loading them, but when I click on one of the programs, it says "Samples not loaded" on top.
I loaded the PCG files into U-GG, 0-20.

Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thank you for making these available, I can't wait to hear and use them!

Here's what I did and it works fine:

Copied the FSCollection folder to my SSD.

Found FS Collection_UserBank.KSC and loaded it.

Loaded .PCG into User-GG.

Works fine.

You might try using the LOAD REQUIRED SAMPLES option if you're using OS 3.0. Go to one of the programs and click on the drop down menu on the main page. Make sure LOAD COMPLETE BANKS is selected.

After I copied FS Collection to the SSD -
I opened it and the files inside look like this -

Bass0966.KSF or,

FSG1B074.KMP

but not a separate file that says FS Collection_UserBank.KSC

I did try loading that file previously and after it loads I check in the Global KSC Load page and it is listed there but it's not showing any size at all (0).
The guitars are loaded on U-GG but it says "samples not loaded" on the top.

BTW, still using OS 2.1.2.

Also shortened file name.

Busch or anyone?
thanks!!
