I AM SO SORRY!!! I thought I had at one stage done this but you are quite correct - EC5 will not enable you to toggle joystick.
I always use my assignable pedal these days.

So SORRY guys for misleading you.

I am happy to set it up so that DNC controller 1 activates it - the only problem I found with this is that when you are holding notes down they will not change until pressed again.
That's why I went for the joystick option.

Although there is no Joystick control in EC5 menu there is a workaround provided. Anything that is switched (momentary or toggle) in FX that is assigned to Joystick being used as a switch vs. its continuous control ability can be done by the EC5 . Continuous actions by Assignable Sliders, joystick or CC foot pedal btw. Here's a related example.


Look at FX CC 12 Switch and FX CC 13 Switch in EC5 menu.
Now, look at Rotary Speaker FX configuration page and you will see where SLOW/FAST and ON/OFF can be assigned to the MIDI CC 12 and MIDI CC 13.
There you go. Switch with two EC5 pedal setups. For a distinctive Hammond B3 and Leslie Tone Cabinet effect try fast speed and then ON/OFF to OFF and listen to it decelerate to stationary and then ON to go gradually all the way back up to FAST using the acceleration settings in FX Rotary Speaker Configuration page to adjust the time it takes.

Want some more fun? Put a continuous controller pedal (expression) on the manual speed control and you can manipulate the rotary speed precisely when and how you want it. Of course you can also adjust the combination vibrato and chorus FXs just like the original.
The PA1X and PA3x can basically do everything the current Hammond keyboards can do, KORG got it right.
I always remember that STEREO amplification is crucial to getting authenticity.

Not sure if this contributes intelligently to your discussion but might remind some readers of the powerful configuration options available.

Thanks for your thoughts - unfortunately using the "rotary" effect on these organ multisamples is a disaster as the "rotary/leslie" is already part of the multisample - it's like playing the output of a Leslie through another Leslie!!!.

The idea of Y-axis JS was to "switch" oscilators - this can be achieved smoothly with the appropriate configurations (volumes) - the old PA1X "XMS organs" replacement OS did something like this for their organs but there is no rotary effect used - just manipulation of multisamples/oscillators.

I so hope Korg ditches all of these "V" organs in the next keyboard/upgrade - they are so unrealistic and a pain to play.

Also, another area for improvement is the drawbar organ - rotary effect is a lot better than previous PAs but not quite there yet.

Yes - this is interesting (although not too realistic) - I used to have this set up on my Behringer FBC1010 expression pedal 1 but decided that is was more fun applied to non authentic instrument sounds (e.g. synths etc...)

confused I am
I push the joystick forward to create rotor sound which sounds great- but how do you hold or keep it there- if I let go of the joystick, it goes back to chorale sound I would like to keep some fully rotored.. do i have to purchase a switch - I dont want to use the pedal as I have it on other functions why dont Korg have 2 switches on the pedal- like organs..

thank you pete... I have been looking at this .. I dont think there is any way around it .... my korg swell pedal as I call it- I use for the swell as in a organ thats why I would like Korg to make the pedal with 2 switches on either side of the pedal as in a organ

I will work on this for you.
I have been "all promises" and "no action" for quite a while due to a huge busy life (just an excuse!!).

I love my Korgs and just don't get enough time to get the most out of them. I work full time and am playing in 2 bands plus filling in for a third - but that is all on drums, not keys!!!

I am forcing changes to my "life schedule" to get more time to play and learn my Korgs.
Please feel free to nag me about the "V" organs if I don't come back with something soon!!

Just wanted to say thanks Pete for the v organ work you did. I use a rotosphere pedal through a separate output for my leslie effect. These sounds are now usable for me.
