flyingace wrote:Dan is correct about the PCM files loading automatically but you will need to select "media" and "load" the DSKROME.PCG file.

It will only overwrite any "user" files you have in the Combi D and Program F banks. I suggest if you have any presets saved, do a full BACKUP, then go back and add your personal presets in the banks after the DSKROME sets.

There are 50 Programs and 30 Combis (each bank can store 127 patches) so you have plenty of room left after loading Dan's patches.

They are well worth it! I love the Poly Pad & Fernando Dynamic Lead! Bad ass!
Thank you for your input. So far I have not created any of my own user files. So this will automatically right only to user file locations, not factory file locations? Is this the case with any added sound files? Another words, the Krome will never automatically overwrite the factory Krome sets? And once I have user files are you able to select which user file banks you load to to avoid overwriting them too? I'm sorry I'm so stupid about these things. Have a steep learning curve to overcome. I truly appreciate your help.
Don't worry about the factory files, because the Krome has a function to bring them back, if you override them. But you have to worry about the user files, if there are some. You have to store your userfiles on a SD Card.

I often load new sounds like the best of M1 or Triton (available on Korg homepage for free) into one of the factory banks, copy the ones I like into the user bank and then recover the factory files. So you can build up a user bank out of different soundsets.

Hello,

Is easy to restore all factory data if you make something wrong or if you delete something.

open GLOBAL> open menu bar from Upper Right Corner and select "Load Preload/Demo Data". You have here all factory PCG, Drum Kits, Drum Patterns, Arpeggio Patterns and Global settings.

So any time your Krome can be restored in the fly. Is no risk. Do anything with it and after few seconds can be back.

Cheers,
Dan

I brought the pack yesterday, downloaded it and installed as per the instructions BUT I found that I had to manually load the sounds into the user banks (both combi's and sound) via the media, load PCG. I also noticed that every start up the Krome is updating PCM from the SD card and if I don't have the SD card with the unzipped pack in the Krome and restart the Krome is missing some of the sounds/samples for the new pack! Has anyone else come across this problem?
I've updated the Krome's operating system to 1.0.3 but with this problem and my trouble with my EXP pedal (on a separate thread) I'm beginning to suspect my Krome may have a fault

Hello !

All the steps are perfect. Nothing wrong. To have the extra PCG you need to load the PCG. Regarding extra PCM, the sound source are located on your SD card. If you restart the unit without SD card the Krome will be start without extra PCM sources and some programs will be play weird or not.
Is better to have one SD card dedicated for your Krome including sound sources and keep it in your unit.
For any question please contact me.

Cheers,
Dan

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the quick reply, I wasn't sure if it was something wrong wth my Krome but it seems everything is as it should be! I usually keep the SD card in the Krome but was creating a new user PCG file to include the new pack on the computer and didn't have the card in the Krome when I restarted it.

Keep up the excellent work Dan, the pack is outstanding and hopefully there'll be more!

YES Dan! The pack is awesome! Make more please!

After a week with it, I've really enjoyed discovering the sounds, switch options, arps and drums associated with each. nice job layering sounds too. some really fun stuff, creative inspiring sounds.

Thanks!

Hi !
The pack does not affect any factory data. All new PCM, Programs, Combis, Arp. patterns, Drum patterns are located in user field.

B.T.W. any factory data can be restored easy from GLOBAL.

Dan

Dan...just one thing I did notice after the factory reset....the user bank sounds remain...do I need to do an initialisation before the reset to remove these completely ?

Hi again,

Don't need to reset anything before load the pack. Just don't forget to save your important data before loading.

Keep in touch. You have my support for any issue.

Kind regards,
Dan
