That's a brilliant price. The cheapest used one I could find earlier on the web was going for £1800. Korg are selling the 61 key for £1300.

As we have discussed in emails Clive, the Kronos has a lot of stuff i wouldnt need and i do like the action on my RD300NX.
Which is why I am leaning towards the new FA08 as it has the same keybed and, hopefully, superNATURAL piano sound.

Splinters,

It's been a strange kind of day for me, as usually my good luck is none existent.

Pepperpotty provided me with a link to Ebay and it turned out to be a Krome 73, so whilst browsing I had a look at the Kronos listings...nothing from Korg when I looked.
So I looked in again a little while later and noticed a 61 key Kronos had been listed for £1,299, - shame it's not the 73 thought I and I told Pepperpotty what I'd seen.

Decided to give Korg a call on the off chance they may have a 73 in stock.
"We'll ring you back in a few hours" .... and true to their word, they did.
I couldn't believe it when they said they had one in stock.
So, I'll be a very Happy Bunny when it arrives.

Hope you get what you're after. Good Luck.

Regards,

MC

Splinters,
That will teach you to send me emails!!! ... Look what I've done, I've turned you and I into a Kronos 73 owners, all in the same day. :D
Between us, we've spent £2,800 on what we would call 'New Toys' - all in all a good shopping day 'eh. :P
I've spent the last few hours watching You Tube videos on how the Kronos functions...very educational.
Similar to my Triton X in some aspects, but what a 'Beast'.

I've also watched 'Sharp' demonstrating on how we can add extra SSD memory.
Thanks for the help there Sharp! Very useful info and a neat job done too.

Roll on Wednesday ... I can't wait to plug the thing in.

I won't sleep now either.

I won a KingKorg on ebay that was being sold by Korg UK and when I went over to pick it up, they asked me if I was interested in the Kronos 73 (they had a 61 as well) and offered it me at a crazy price and I even knocked them down a bit, so I came home with 2 synths. It is the orignal version, but haven't had any note cut offs, but as it was a return from a store (DV247 I believe), when I registered it, I got 3 years warranty!

Kineticsoundprism,

Not sure whether you're referring to me, but if so, then yes and I love it.

If you are selling one - then good luck with that. There are plenty out there who will buy it.

I love mine and it's not for sale. :D

I think this is a serious problem for retailers. I wonder how this kind of thing will go down in a few years, with so many online sales there is very little demand for retailers at all.

Congrats on your great deals though

SanderXpander,

I totally agree with you 100% that with the amount of cheaper online deals to be had, many retailers will have to close, which is a shame and a loss to communities.

For many years I worked in the retail Music business and at one time owned my own Music Shop and held many franchises but always found it hard going, as there was always someone out there prepared to cut margins to the bone. I wouldn't like to be in retail today with a shop and its overheads to have to consider. The internet is great but it will affect retail outlets on the high street.

My contacts with suppliers taught me to go straight to the importer whenever I want to buy.
