Well before I loaded the two with user bank I could load D-50.ksc and play it as long as didn't load the other ksc. Now it tells me samples not loaded.

I went in and unchecked both the D-50 and the D-50_userbank from ksc auto load and then restarted the Kronos and rechecked the D50_UserBank and did an auto load. Now it works! Sounds great. I know when I first tried them last year I wasn't happy it wasn't as I remembered it. I imaging it is still the same but now I like them again.

Which should I load though in KSC auto load. the D-50 or the D-50 user bank?

Also why do I have more free memory now then I did before? Was there something else stock in Kronos that the D-50 overwrites in U-GG?
Thanks!

You probably ran out of RAM. Loading the one that does NOT contain “user bank” in it's name will by default try to load fully into RAM.

Doing that will leave little to no room for anything else.

The KRONOS is not going to tell you that on Auto Load it ran out of RAM either. It will simply not load the data and only load what it can fit into RAM.

Which is why it's best to load the one that does contain “user bank” in its name so that it streams and only a small amount of RAM is used.

Great, glad to hear you have it working.

Always the one with User Bank in it's name and don't change any of it's default options. This will by default stream the library and use the least amount of RAM.

I suspect it's just a matter of getting your head around what what you should be loading the data. Loading data fully into RAM is huge waste of memory. Best to always stream it (Virtual Memory) and use User Banks.

That's just the way the PCG is setup by default as it's generally a common bank people have empty.

You don't have to load the PDG data into the U-GG bank if you don't want to. Simply use the OPEN option to drill into the PCG file. You can then load the U-GG bank inside the PCG file to any location in memory you like.

If you have the samples already loaded, the data will auto connect and still function perfectly regardless of what bank you load the PCG sounds into.

The “Orinoco Flow” sound your after Pizzagogo is more than just a D50. Enya built up the sound.

Go to the download section here at KORG Forums. Look at the second last item in the list.
