It may be a natural assumption, given that there are many very knowledgable folk here providing assistance in varying degrees of tech-y-ness - from the simple "how do I do this" to software design, hardware revisions and mods, true tech support, and tissues for those who's stuff has breathed it's last.
This is what community should be.
This is what corporate tech support is not, in many cases.
But OP (and others of like mind) should know better and know the difference between what we can do for each other and what any long standing company can do to help users of even it's current gear or software.
No one sets out to make bum software or hardware, but every company draws the line in making something good enough, cheaply enough to make enough profit to sustain the company and help out users.
Ideally, every product would be perfect, but the reality is that hardware problems with m50 and kronos HAD to have an impact on profitability, and that massive bite ongoing tech support for hardware may have driven korg to put out a workable but less than stellar iOS software package as a means to pump up the bottom line.
Gadget has the potential to be a mini-Kronos (and maybe the true mistake was to hype it as such without regard to it's limitations - caveat emptor) in that it brought together a number of basic synths and drum machines in one package. You probably wouldn't have bought all of them separately, but together they're hard to resist. But it is a Gadget after all - a can opener compared to a 747. If you want a true equivalent to Kronos, the Korg Legacy collection, or better yet Komplete (with it's own dozen or so synth engines), might be fairer products for a comparison.

I agree Gadget is an incredible program. Korg did a great job designing Gadget. It's a really good value for what you get.
I've been a hobbyist since the 80's, when I had my first synth(Sequential Circuits Six-Trax) hooked up to my Amiga computer. I just got into iOS music this past week and I'm amazed at what is out there for software. I just purchased all of the Korg iOS apps. It's nice to find a forum like this.

I've been playing Korg synthes since I bought my Minikorg in the early 70's. I think korg and this forum rule!
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

If Korg is so incompetent and other developers have provided so much more functionality in such a timely matter why aren't you using their equivalent products?agus69 wrote:I'm sorry, but I am completely losing faith in Korg. This has been my go to company for hardware since the '80's. I own quite a bit of korg kit, but when it comes to iOS development, you guys have completely sh1t the bed! Your apps suck and are missing key elements that other developers have released from the first day their products are launched. And charging these steep prices for such garbage is an outrage! With Gadget, you folks have taken forever to come out with an update to address problems that have been complained about since its launch and all we got was landscape mode and 2 crappy in-app purchases! How about actually fixing the piano roll? Adding proper edit functions? WHERE's THE BLOODY UNDO, for F@CK SAKES?!?!?!?!?and how do you justify an in-app purchase that has no demo? No videos on how the gadgets work, just a really doodoo audio sample. Come on Korg! Wtf are you guys doing? Seems like you're just out to rip-off the amateur enthusiast and piss of the professional. I have bought every single korg app in the app store and can say that I am 100% disappointed in the actual functionality of said apps and I'm done with this company. In fact, I want a bloody refund!! Gadget just put the icing on the cake. Shape up or I'm pretty sure a lot of others will follow suit.
PS; this forum is a joke. Not one response from a korg moderator or specialist on most of the posts in this section. Goes to show you how much they care about what people really think and feel about their products, not to mention the lack of attention paid to those with actual complaints and problems within their apps. Tisk tisk
Better yet, since you seem to know a lot about the IOS development process, why don't you build your own app. that meets all of your stringent requirements. Objective C shouldn't be that difficult for you.
Finally, Korg does sell hardware too. You could go out and purchase 15 of their hardware Gadgets:)
