But, its such a shame, in this day and age, that the CPU isn't able to run the machine flat out, we have to work within it's limits. Still, its very "old skool" to have to work within processing limitations I guess.

Apple has shown that the programming language can make a tremendous difference in utilizing the hardware 100%. The iPhone 6 may only have 1 GB of RAM, but it still has the smoothest gui on the market, compared to other "better spec'd" phones. I believe many of these bugs will be fixed if Korg re-writes some of the firmware, if possible, and we know this is possible, considering the rumors regarding replacing the firmware with the Sampler-firmware.
We also have to remember how fresh this unit really is. Unfortunately, bad support can destroy a lot of hardware. I remember in the old days the Creative Drivers for the Creative Soundcards. So many bugs etc, so the community took over the whole thing and to this day are still updating drivers for the old sound cards.
Here's hoping, I do still love it though, everything has a limitation. Out of curiosity, I had a look on a Roland Forum at the Aira TR8 threads, all moaning about this bug and that, makes the E2 look positively slick and my impression was the TR8 was a real winner. Just show's we'll moan about anything!

Basically a flawed product, no doubts about that.
I sold mine weeks ago, glad I did. I haven't missed it tbh.
If the sampler has the same issues I will be disappointed but I will keep it anyway, so much more versatile being able to use your own sounds and I can always use a handy sampler

Good you got out while these are still fresh. I had no problems making a groove & a damn good sounding pattern but i got fed up of being locked into 4 bars. Borrrrrriinngggg,

From the data utility menu select software update, this may show it.

You have to actually start the OS update process, it will show you the current version of the unit and the OS version on the card. You can cancel the update process before you start, so there's no risk.
