I read in the manual that the fan can be set to OFF, but i t will start again automatically if the temperature exceeds 80°C.
The question is when will that happen?
During indoor use in a room with a human-comfortable temperature, I wouldn't expect the KRONOS internal temperature to exceed 80C. I leave mine set to Off, and I haven't heard it turn on yet.

Hi Dan.

Is it safe to run the Kronos consistently in the high 70s?
I put mine on slow in a room with a "human-comfortable temperature" and after about an hour the temperature got into the high 80s until it reached 89c at which point, I got the super fast fan and warning message, then it cooled down to 68c after about 10-15 minutes (auto)

I sold my K61 because the fan really annoyed me after a while.

Thanks

I'm a new owner of a Krornos 2 88 -- (less than 2 weeks), and the fan in it is very very quiet at all times. You will hear the fan when you first turn on the Kronos, but after maybe 10 seconds or so, during the remainder of the boot sequence, it turns off or is barely running. I really can't notice it at all. (Granted, I have not had it in an extremely warm environment, and I did not own a Kronos or Kronos X -- so I can't make a comparison, but I'm not worried about fan noise with this unit.) I love working with this quiet, stealthy machine and you will too!

The system will turn on the fan when it needs to. No need to over-think it!
