Too bad someone stole this idea and made a $12 closed source version out of it for OSX.

If anyone should be its the people that have worked hard on the free editors they made for the sake the community in the past few months.

I would've been frustrated if it was my code/idea being stolen and used for commercial gain.

And I would be extra frustrated if I see my fellow forum members defending the spammers right to spam and sell overpriced apps they didn't even come up with.

But I'm not frustrated, sorry. It is a dick move though

Some quick thoughts from "the other guy":

Nobody stole any code. Spleen wrote his beautiful app in a totally different environment and it's tricky enough that nobody reverse-engineered it in 2 days.

When I said I copy-pasted I meant general-purpose things like converting hex to a string. This is called writing code.

I don't consider what Spleen did to be spam. This sort of program has a tiny audience, and I don't know where else you would advertise it.

Could we all focus on bug reporting and feature requests? I'm working with _INTER_ and anyone else interested in making this a living piece of software like the awesome Open Electribe Editor.

Thanks for making this clear. It seems like nobody would believe me if these words came from my mouth.

Spleen spammed the forum though; 4 threads started, 3 of them are for selling apps.

You guys are doing amazing work and I fully support you. I would be willing to participate in any kind of testing for new versions of either pieces of software. Just let me know if you need anything.

I just wanted to thank you for making this!
I've been using the free editor the last couple days... It works awesome.
I'm on win7 and I had to update to java 8 but after that it worked fine.
Already tweaked and tuned a bunch of SCWF's with it!

I did notice you have to set the loops start point to twice the value of the E2s displayed value. Other than that, I haven't hit any snags.

Another thank you for taking the plunge into making an essential app for the e2s. (I donated too.)

I wish I programmed so I could contribute, easy to imagine an editor/librarian with all sorts of tools to whip those sample and pattern files into shape.

Also wish this forum had a setting to put obnoxious commenters on mute.

I don't have OSX and wouldn't pay for an editor if I did. The ESX-1 editor was fantastic and free. Good on you for developing a free one. Gonna check it out. Thank you.

I'm currently in exam season and barely find time to work on it. Also I'm still waiting for my E2S to finally arrive.
