is there a possibility that the program is activated .
I have sent you a personal message with the register ID but no response , register key , had returned . Is the program meant for commercial purposes or for all PA2XPro/PA800 users . I would really like to try the program .

I really find the interface of your software somewhat hard to manipulate and to take track of the tasks.

Please make it look like TRINITRO -see Korg Trinity Section- witch is a soft for manging PCG file for KORG TRINITY series. Take a look at it, install it and try to improve sour soft like it.

Hi all Korg users,

It has been a long time not writing to you my friends.

It is almost one month since the version 1.0.27 was released; meanwhile I was working on new features, like creating a new empty SET, adding an empty STY file to a set, multi instance and drag/drop which is the first step in the automatic merging process

A new version was created for test (1.0.29) on 26.10 and still waiting for test results….

Actually I have changed the strategy of testing and releasing new versions, before I used to test my changes through software and ask one user to test the new functionality, then I used release it and wait for user’s response and comments which was most of the time very helpful.

Since last release, we have been working through email, and some tests are made by users that are supporting me, but I have discovered that this is not the perfect way because it takes a long time before getting the change test especially if the testers are busy.

Anyhow I have decided to make a mixture of both strategies.

Here is the test version 1.0.29 (it is not a release version, please don’t download it if you are not sure)

what can you do in this version? or better said what can you test ?

The good functionality in this version is creating a new SET, for the users who wants to test the new merging functionality, please do the following:


First start the software and create a new set (will only have style files)

Files->New Set
Give the set name
Select the path to save it

Then in the “Style Files List” create a new STY file
New-> give a name (e.g. USER01) -> ok

Now you have an empty style file, open it

Then start another instance of the software and load the source SET


Just select a style from the source set, drag it and drop it on the empty style, the software will update the sounds, just wait (till the progress ends), now you can continue with the importing of styles


You can save the STY file any time, and you can generate the import report from the menu
Import->Create Import Report


when you finish just save the STY and generate import report.

Load the new SET in the PA machine and import those sounds from the source (SETs) as described in the import report

I've just been made aware of the fact that the developer behind this software has been asking for payment.

For that to be allowed, there must be some level of reasoning behind asking people to pay for beta versions. We also don't allow commercial advertisements here to have a sticky topic status or to use the website to continuously promote their software.

This even applies to me and I own this place.

Ok, I've reviewed the thread and I'm happy to let this run based on the progress that has been made.

However, this would not have been allowed if I had been made aware of the fact that people had to pay to download beta software that was completely unfinished and not even available as a demo. I've never seen the likes of this before actually.

In addition to that we do not allow anyone to promote for profit projects on an ongoing basis, but since I said I will let this run, I will allow this so long as everything is contained to this one thread.

It won't be a stick topic though because this cannot be associated with the running of the forum.

Sharp, I'm actually surprised that you weren't aware of this thread. This thread is been at the top for a long time now. There was nothing secretive about it, or it was nothing like somebody was hiding anything from you. To be super clear about this, Rob brought up the financial concern at the beginning, and Babosh (the developer) clearly said that why he was doing that, and how this whole process worked. He even suggested that if it was against the rules, people in charge could go ahead and delete the thread altogether.
Also, this project isn't supported or financed by a company or anything. It's very clear that what it's capable of doing at this time, and people who supported it, were not forced or tricked into doing that. You may download demos from WAVES, or Native instruments or whatever, or have whole bunch of options to do this and that, but this work doesn't fall in that categorey at all. Again, no body wanted to bend your rules.

Yes as I've said already above, I've revived the thread and I would have never approved of anyone in the beginning asking for money for a program up front without providing so much as a working demo / trial version or prof the program even functioned.

Fair enough it turned out to be a honest venture in the end, but picture this.... a new guy turns up on the forum talking of doing what everyone else has failed at, and he's not even a musician or a Pa User, but he wants your money to develop a program and no working demo or proof of concept is available. That doesn't paint a pretty picture.

I'm happy that this has a happy ending, but I wouldn't have allowed him to use this forum from the start without doing proper beta testing that everyone good programmer does. You don't charge people to be beta testers.

Neither is KORG Forums and you can be sure it costs us quite a lot of money to keep this place running. I haven't asked for a single cent from donations in 6 years now so this place is hosted entirely by the good graces of Daz and myself.

I'm not asking him to release his program for free, but there shouldn't have ever been an initial cost for something that didn't even exists at the time. Again, you don't charge for beta software.

The key word there are “at this time” which is also why I'm allowing this to run. As I've said, I've reviewed the contents and I'm happy that this is not a scam and thankfully a huge amount of progress has been made to prove he has the skills to do this. It's a happy ending for sure, but I'm also just doing my job and looking out for you guys interests.

Most of you have no idea what scams go on here because Daz and myself are all over them in a flash. This thread is one that somehow skipped under the radar, but that wont' happened ever again.

It's ok for you to look back with hind sight now, which is why this thread is still running too, but if it had been noticed in the beginning then I would have asked for things to proceed very differently.

Coming here and promising the impossible while expecting to be paid in advanced with not even so much as a demo just sets off every kind of alarm bell.

I disagree. By page 4 the only thing accomplished was to display the names of the sounds assigned to a style. I wasn't convinced even at that point that he had the skill to decode the Styles because any kid with a hex editor can open a style file right now and see the names of all the parts assigned to a style. The information is not encrypted, it's bog standard text. Writing an app to extract that information would have been really easy. You could write something like that in VB in minutes.

Anyway... that's all pointless now and no point in welling on what didn't happen.
