There never have been 73 key non weighted keybeds AFAIK.

M3-73 was unweighted - it had the same fantastic synth action as the Kronos 61.

I'm not aware that Korg will be releasing a non-weighted 73 note version of the Kronos in the future though, has anyone heard anything about this?

I just don't feel that 2.5 minutes is an issue really. Yes, other workstations and synths boot a lot faster but they are not loading as much information.

Vlad in all due respect, not all of us can afford a 2nd or 3rd 'back up' keyboard when we have a family to support, a mortgage to service every month and we're not making hundreds or thousands of dollars a week from playing live. I usually use 1 keyboard when playing out with my band and occassionally take 2 for bigger gigs. The 2.5 minute boot up time is an issue for me because I simply fail to see the point in such an instrument taking that long to boot up. My Imac boots up in way less time than the Kronos.

I was seriously looking at getting a Kronos but judging by Korg's past history in workstations, I'll wait and see how they can improve on what is no doubt a very impressive 1st generation of a new worksation! The Triton series was updated every couple of years to the point that the Triton Extreme is still a very capable workstation even after 8 years of being in existance. The M3 was given those fantastic 'Xpanded' features. I'm sure that Korg's next Kronos incarnation will turn my head ut presently, there's too many things I'd like improved (even if it mean't a higher price for the instrument). This of course is just my humble opinion!

I completely understand about not being able to afford other keyboards due to family and other reasons. My Kronos is the first new keyboard that I've bought since my DX-7 and I bought that in the 80's. My Monotron doesn't count. It was a Christmas present from my wife! I've always had to buy used gear but shopping around often pays off.
I realize this is a "why you didn't buy a Kronos?" thread so I probably shouldn't even be here but my curiosity about why anyone wouldn't buy one ig they could afford one got to me.
