I've already got one. Thanks to Korg, the only difference between the X and the 2 will be the case if you get the new OS, EXs, and piano. http://youtu.be/A8yjNbcKkNY

Hi Jim,

your a lucky fella to have your hands on one already.

I thought the new keyboard also supported drag on the screen which the X cannot and had gold plated outputs? Also I notice the screen is slightly more tilted than the X version.

I think the screen is the same on both versions, so drag and drop will work on the older models with the OS upgrade. The screen is at a better angle on the new case. As for the gold plated contacts, I doubt that will make any practical difference.

Have fun with your Kronos 2. It's a great looking board. I'd get one if I didn't already have the X 61. I like the wood end caps and ventilated case.

Cheers

Interesting, if the screen is no different and the only enhancements are a bit of wood (the new grand piano and expansions can be bought) it works out nearly 600 quid cheaper to buy a 61 key Kronos, add your own SD and buy the expansions and I will get it this side of the Martians landing.

there is the time to upgrade the hardware, ( first gen Kronos) cost of doing so plus the almighty hunt to find a suitable or new 61 .

I've ordered the 73key on 2 years interest free credit.

free interest like that is great. Definitely mark that 24th month on your calendar, maybe pay it off on month 23.

Well, at the risk of being in a minority of one, I'll stick my neck out and say that I don't like the wood end panels on the new Kronos. So I'm happy to stick with my KronosX 61 - just as well as it's only a few months old. And anyway, a new keyboard purchase so soon after the last one would be impossible to explain to my wife. She just doesn't understand....

I will however be upgrading to the new OS v3.0 though. Thanks for that Korg. Very much appreciated as many others have already said.

I'm with Jim on this one. I got the Kronos to get away from the computer. However, I got screwed owing to the lack of a piano roll so I still have to use the damn computer.

I see that there are now small holes in the top panel. Is this for cooling? Did they remove the fan? Only reason to upgrade as far as I'm concerned. Fan noise drives me nuts. I have a one room studio and I can't have open mics when the Kronos is on.

In response to the piano roll #10873 noted....

It is quite interesting that Korg has not added this simple and much requested feature that they had in the M3 and I believe it is in the Krome. It makes no sense to not have it in there...it makes editing midi so much easier....and...they have included it in lower-tiered products.

There are so many posts in multiple forums on this subject. Korg....please listen to your user base and add this feature...soon. I think you would a) make a lot of people happy and b) get some new buyers. Yes the Kronos is incredible as it is - nobody questions that...but this simple added feature makes so much sense.

Thanks for everything you do - you have amazing products!

God bless and Merry Christmas to all!
