All very nice additions, however I think these items would take quite some time to develop making it more likely to be in Kronos '2'.Sina172 wrote:Considering how the RADIAS is a subset of what the AL-1 Engine in KRONOS is (minus the 4-Part Program, each with its own step sequencer, minus the formant shift with the incredible 16-band vocoder it has, minus the dual comb filter, which not only allows you to use 2 filters in various configurations for each timbre, but also to "morph" into different filter types, and Formant Motion Record which lets you record vocal phrases and words and trigger them with the Vocoder), I don't really see the point of this...KronosSoundDesigns wrote:There is 19 pages to sort through so this might already be mentioned.
Why not develop a Radias expansion board like the Korg EXB Radias for the M3, but for the Kronos. I think as the 10th Engine in the Kronos, it would really complete the unit.
What do you guys think?
But if they add those missing elements to AL-1 in KRONOS, that would be intense!![]()
I'd really like to see an actual Wavestation, M1/T-Series with ALL the expansion card libraries and Internal ROM, the Mono/Poly, the entire Triton and Trinity Program/Combi Collection in the KRONOS.
Bring back the Dual Arps in the KRONOS, but instead of 2 1/2 Bars on the grid, make it 8-bars that can be programmed. The ability to edit both the X axis and the Y axis (right now you can only edit on the Y axis). This will individualize each note, instead of a column of notes that you have certain settings on.
I want ALL the M3 sequencer advantages ported over to the KRONOS, with a dedicated drum program grid (similar to the dual arps I just mentioned), but for the Drum Track feature.
And the ability to access Program Mode, WHILE in Combi or Sequence Mode so we can alter the Programs we want without having to leave everything and go to another mode. This is actually where Kurzweil SHINES and I would LOVE to see this in KRONOS.
And PLEASE, I am BEGGING Korg for that On-Board GE Editor! I would LOVE that in my KRONOS 88's and 61!

Currently a full Kronos PCG file is 42MB. To make it 16384 banks instead of the current (about 24) will result in a file of 29GB (not completely true, but a rough estimation). To put this on a thumb drive will cost you a thumb drives of about $1000 and hour(s) of time to save.Cpilot wrote:How about a bank page in Global mode, rather like the Set List page, where you could specify 128 banks and assign the bank buttons to the appropriate banks. To be really ambitious there could be 128 bank pages so now you could have 16384 banks. Better than having to push two buttons (or more) to get to a bank. Probably need a bigger SSD though.

$1,000 for a USB thumb drive to hold 29GB? Would you like to buy a boxful of them from me at $900 each so you can sell them on and make a profit?michelkeijzers wrote:Currently a full Kronos PCG file is 42MB. Sorry you are fully right .... they are not expensive here too (far from).petem wrote:$1,000 for a USB thumb drive to hold 29GB? I can't speak for other countries but we often end up paying more for tech kit here in the UK than elsewhere, and I can get a 32GB thumb drive for less than £30 from Amazon UK (probably cheaper if I shopped around). I already have two of them in my laptop bag for transferring files.
I can see your point about the time it would take to save though, which obviously would be significantly longer for 29GB than for 42MB and would be long enough to be a pain even with a fast thumb drive.
By pressing two of any bank buttons there would be 128 banks possible (I think), bank IAIB ... UFUG.Cpilot wrote:I didn't really advocate 16384 banks - just a bit of tongue in cheek. But 128 banks is realistic.

Today I am spending time experimenting with the RPPR feature and pads as I described above. This would work beautifully for my requirement of "realtime song arrangements" except, as it stands, I must carefully time my tap of the pad/key within one measure of when I want the next pattern to start. That's okay sometimes, but what if I want to "cue up" a pattern to play only after the current pattern completes (not at the end of the current measure)?RobLinwood wrote:I just spent a few hours reading this entire thread and my head is swimming. I have had my Kronos 61 for exactly one week today. Having come from an M3, my ramp-up into the basics was quick. I have barely begun to dig into the Ops Guide, so extend some mercy to me if these suggestions are already present in the Kronos...
- Software-based Shutdown: to alleviate the dangers of losing unwritten or unsaved precious work. Perhaps a software-based shutdown with appropriate warning(s) about unsaved songs (for example) and an opportunity to choose to save or at least cancel.
- Automatic song load - a Global option to automatically load all songs from a particular/configurable folder as part of boot up. I find the file management requirements (saving, loading, filetypes, etc.) of the Kronos to be highly flexible, but also burdensome.
- Muti-timbral Patterns (or perhaps "Pattern Groups") - I want a way to effectively jump to different parts of a song while playing live. I play in live worship settings where songs are often not played "as rehearsed" -- such as repeating a chorus part a couple extra times, or jumping back to verse n, etc. I think this end could be achieved with Karma and custom GE's, but I am also interested in the RPPR feature -- and hoping to assign pattern play triggers to the extra pads on my nanopad2 (after 1.5 comes out). Basically I want to trigger something much more lengthy than a typical arpeggiated (or even Karmafied) phrase.
That's my "first week" wish list. I hope to get some good suggestions from all you geniuses out there.
