It sure wouldn't be difficult for Korg to throw a prototype "Kronos LS" together: a couple of years ago, I opened up my M3-73 and my Kronos 61, and hooked the M3's (unweighted) keyboard directly to the K61's motherboard (connections are the same, they are 61- and 73-key versions of the same keybed) and it worked just fine as a synth-action Kronos 73...but I couldn't figure out a way to fit the 73 keybed into the K61 without really hacking things up...if there is a Kronos LS 73 (or 76?) that weighs in at around 25 lbs., I'd buy one to replace my K61, particularly if the left-hand controls are moved up above the lower end of the keyboard to make it shorter that the existing K73, too...

Please forgive me if I missed something but where did the idea of a 76 key Kronos come from? Did I miss a picture or something?

Since this is all just speculation, I guess some of us like 76's better than 73's...for me, playing piano with 76 keys E1-G7 gives me a few more useful high notes, but 73 keys E1 - E7 is OK too...I don't like 73 keys C1-C7, I don't think that C1-D#1 sound very good or are very useful on piano (while C#7-E7 definitely are), but I understand that synth guys who split the keybed into zones might prefer starting and ending on C...

If Korg dropped the price of a Kronos by 500-1000 I wonder how many people would buy that don't have one and how many people that have one would buy a second. I would since I have an x 61 I would love an 88 hammer weight but if the 88 had the 61 action and was considerable less it would also be quite tempting.

I wonder if it will be possible to replace the existing 88 keybed with the new one from the LS?

Nothing about a 76/73 version of the LS. Was really hoping they'd release in the 76 key format. Guess I'll have to stick with the 61.

Really looking forward to hearing more about the LS. Make it under 35 lbs, my order will be placed. Was really hoping for 76/73, but if that's not happening, the 88 is under 35, I'm in.

Since the 61 is more than 25 lbs, I can't imagine a 7x would get down there. In fact, for some reason, the 61-key Kronos 2 gained a few pounds over the original 61! But the 88 LS is in the high 30s... if they could get a 73 down to the low 30s (including, as you say, moving the LH controls to shorten the overall length of the board), I'd find that very appealing.
