Hi Jon, I have downloaded your MAXX settings thank you, at first glance they are not a whole lot different than I have mine set to so that's good, I think.

I found that even though the new styles and sounds that came with v2.0 onwards are definitely mixed/balanced better (and have obviously been eq'd in a much better way to most of the standard styles), I think that the pa4x as a whole still benefits greatly from Maxx settings similar to the ones I created..........................................

FYI, my latest Maxx settings are here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1fD9 ... HRTZ0tTVzg

Jon, thanks again for sharing and for the additonal info, sounds like a good setup to work from.

Glad to hear that Bill. I originally created/tailored my Maxx settings to specifically make my QSc PA K10s sound as good as possible but the settings seem to work well with my PaaS speaker too. I'm pleased that eq-wise you and I have similar tastes. Hopefully, it means that we're both on the right track for an optimum sounding keyboard.

Best wishes,

Jon, my main difference to yours is my stereo spread is a lot wider, which is just my preference.

That's good to know Bill (I'll experiment with that a little more).

FYI, for gigging purposes, I personally try to avoid spreading out my stereo mixes too much, as I've found that in 99% of venues most audiences are never actually positioned perfectly (i.e. dead center). This means that with a wide stereo mix or with instruments hard/strongly panned left or right, the typical audience member ends up only hearing half (or only certain instruments) of what the real mix should sound like (and crossing the PA doesn't tend to help much either in those scenarios).

In a perfect environment (i.e. listening to a well set up HiFi or even using the PaaS) a nice stereo mix can sound truly amazing, unfortunately, for gigging purposes I tend to be more conservative, to ensure that the whole audience can actually hear the whole output. I'm always up for learning new ideas and approaches though.

Thanks for the input.
Best wishes,
Jon

Hi Jon, no you are perfectly correct in your thoughts for gigging, I was only stating at home use because you mentioned the PAS speaker.
