PA5x - suggested changes & enhancements OS 1.3.0 only

MIXER: use STYLE/SONG and KBD/PAD buttons to select mode
Currently in the HOME:MIXER tab the only way to switch between viewing the Style channels and the Keyboard/Pad channels is by means of a small button on the bottom right of the screen which shows either “Style” or “Pads/Kbd”
Because its very common to be using the corresponding REAL buttons to the right of the REAL faders in the CONTROL area it would be intuitive to *also* be able to switch between the two views simply by pressing either of those two buttons, labelled “KBD/PAD” and “STYLE/SONG"

SETTINGS:MIDI show current preset name in ALL MIDI pages
The button to the right of “MIDI PRESET” showing the name of the current MIDI preset being edited should be in ALL of the five “tabs” or pages of the MIDI section.
it would be better situated at the very top - to the right of the MIDI label.
Failing that - if the BUTTON is to stay in the GENERAL CONTROLS tab alone, at least display the NAME of the current preset in ALL five views- say at the very top, to the right of “MIDI"
Data held in a file ( midi settings info in this case ) is a different category to the actual *name* of the settings file itself.
It’s too easy to get confused when navigating , changing or creating new MIDI settings files currently.

KEYBOARD SET buttons: add long-press option
let a long-press on any of the four KEYBOARD SET buttons not only select that keyboard set but *also* switch the HOME screen to the KEYS panel - so we can see everything to do with the selected KEYBOARD SET

We need a way to quickly record either a keyboard MIDI. part but also to record something *on top of* or overdubbing an existing CHORD PROGRESSION being played.
Simple things like this start making this beast into a useful composer/songwriter aid as well as a one man band thing

Long-click any Kbd or Guitar preset to go into EDIT mode
Currently attempting to edit presets in the PA is laborious and non-intuitive.
There seems no quick shortcut for to directly edit a preset being shown in the preset browser for a keyboard sound or guitar preset.
Nor is there a direct and quick way to edit one of the voices in a Keyboard set currently in use.
Far as I can tell in the case of keyboard instruments currently we have to go through the laborious step of:
press REC/EDIT button, then
press SOUND button in the EDIT menu - then
browse the sound presets until you find the one you want to edit...
A long-click on any preset wherever the preset icon is displayed could get round that.
In any case a menu option “edit selected preset” would help
This is so obvious
The same goes for GUITAR effect chain presets
When in the MIC/GUITAR. tab on the HOME screen - a long-press on the preset name/icon could take us into the guitar preset chain editor.
Likewise - when in the same view- a long-press on the current Guitar amplifier icon or any of the effects in the chain ( chorus, reverb etc ) could take us straight into the editor page for that particular effect.
Come on KORG! this is HUMAN INTERFACE USABILITY GUIDELINES 101 !

Add EDIT to Preset Browser top right corner dropdown menu
In every preset browser - whether instrument , effect or guitar effect chain etc- add an EDIT option in the drop down menu that appears when one clicks those 3 bar buttons in the top right corner.
CHORD SEQUENCE:grey out lead sheet during intros/ends
Currently whenever a CHORD SEQUENCE is loaded - whether factory or user created - the chord lead-sheet only displays when one of the four VARIATIONS are being played. Otherwise the lead-sheet area with all the chords just appears blank. While this might initially make sense as INTROS and ENDINGS dont follow the CHORD SEQUENCE - it is disconcerting as - apart from the name of the SEQUENCE - shown to the right of “CHORD SEQUENCE” - being displayed - there isn’t a strong visual feedback indicator of the fact a sequence HAS actually been loaded. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT WHEN ONE HAS LOADED A CUSTOM SEQUENCE THAT REPLACES THE FACTORY ONE ASSIGNED TO A PARTICULAR STYLE.
SO here’s a simple solution: display the lead sheet chord changes as soon as it’s loaded but GREY IT OUT during INTROS and ENDINGS.
Then as soon as - and whenever - any VARIATION starts playing - show the chords etc as normal

REC/EDIT page: add CHORD SEQUENCE to the panels
Currently when we press the REC/EDIT button we see options for:
STYLE
SONG
PAD
SOUND
AUDIO
SAMPLER
please add: CHORD SEQUENCE to this page - to keep things logical and user friendly.

Assignable functions "Style Up" and "Style Do
Please Korg, Can you add the assignable functions "Style Up" and "Style Down"? They are included in my old Korg Pa900. These functions assigned to "assignable buttons" are very useful when you build your own styles to performance a song, and 4 VARs are not enough.

Just an ideea
An interersting sound would be one with one bass in the left and a guitar in the right, tha bass with a kick drum (monophonic) on it and a hihat and the guitar with a snare drum on it ( also monophonic) and another hi hat who can open and close depending of the velocity. Or a piano madd the same way, wich can accompany others and also change the tempo. In some music styles, the bass is playing in the same time with the kick and the guitar with the snare and both with the hiHat. I made such a sound, but there is room for better. ( i couldn’t make it as a single sound and no velocity on the kick and snare) .
Hi,everyone!

Not sure if this has been covered before but going to add it here.
Error report when importing SMF into a New Style when it fails to recognize the file. Currently nothing is reported and the select does not have a file to import after selection of a midi was made.

Not sure if this is currently possible in PA5X. Please reply if it is then I will remove this post.
Allow user to select the default sounds per track for New Styles or when importing a New Style from SMF.

not sure if this was raised before - again, will delete if it has.
Adjust the time the keyboard stays on before it auto shuts down if not used. I think it is currently 2 hours. Make this time adjustable by the user.
