The problem is if I go back to O.S. ver 1.02 and resource 1.02 and then load O.S. ver 1.51 and resource 1.50, even then it shows sample time 0 bad SSD problem...[as you say this is happening with Avi] only if I use 1.02 it will be okay... why is this??? Earlier my machine was was working fine with O.S. 1.51... but not now, Why???
Okay, KORG may release a new O.S. in few months time... fine ... what if I load that and it again shows Sample time 0...bad SSD problem .... then??? What will I do?? where will I go???? What if by then my warranty gets over....
try to get my point Rob... & if I am saying anything unresonable, please correct me...

I quote your original message asking for help. What I have advised you to do will restore your keyboard to good working order based on OS1.02 and Musical Resources 1.02. I have further advised you not to use OS1.51 for the immediate future until Korg post an update. If you don't want to follow my advice, that's OK with me.
Thanks,
Rob

Hello Mr. Tramannoni,
Your posting here at the end indicates that probably you have read this thread and are aware of the problem Avi, me and some other users are facing and unfortunately the number will grow in the times to follow because of O.S. 1.51 and it's sampling mode.
What are your instructions for us? If KORG is working on an update of operating system, what is the basic operating system required for that upgrade?
I mean if new upgrade is say 1.6, then upon which operating system will that be topped, 1.2 or 1.51 ?
By pruchasing KORG product we have shown our trust in your company and now the time demands it's reinforcement from your end.
I am not able to work on my machine. All my activity has stopped.
Kindly help us.
Thanks & Regards
Sandeep Prakash Srivastava

Hello everyone,
Today I have received an email from Audio plus, Mumbai, India that Korg has decided to replace the 'Memory Module' of my machine.
As my machine was malfunctioning as discussed earlier and since the supplied CD contained the following files with instructions to load, if necessary, I loaded:
1. Pa800_os_res_v102.pkg which is of 126 MB
2. Pa800_res_v101.BKP which is of 7.43 MB
files one by one... checked the sampling info... it showed the same:
"Mono time-0 s."
"Bytes-0"
I was heart broken. Then I decided to load operating system 1.51 and it's resource file. When I was loading the O.S. 1.51 file my Pa800 did not show pen drive [F] some ? mark was there... I switched off the machine and inserted the pen drive in my laptop that immediately said that pen drive needs to be formatted. I formatted and reloaded the O.S.1.51 file and loaded on Pa800. Here my machine took more than normal 'please wait' time but loaded the O.S.
There after I deleted that file from pen drive and copied the Resource file and loaded on my Pa800, here also I saw some quick shaky 'vibrato' display but the file got loaded with longer 'Please wait' time.
After this I again checked the sampling info, it showed the same:
"Mono time-0 s."
"Bytes-0"
In total, the problems that have surfaced SO FAR on my Pa800 are:
1. An automatic significant reduction in volume for which I had started the following thread too
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=30826
2. When I took the full backup of my data, my backup should have had been around 38 MB but was only 4.8 MB. Heavy reduction in files in PCM folder is there.
3. My memory module is already being replaced by KORG.
4. My machine has started throwing 'Device Generic Error' and is taking more than normal 'please wait' time... that probably shows bad hard disk problem.
5. Some quick shaky 'vibrato' display is seen.
& my machine is only 4 months old. What more has to surface only future can tell.
I am 800 Miles away from Audio Plus, Mumbai... they say to bring down the machine for replacement of Memory Module that may take 4 or 5 days for replacing / checking the machine...
In 4 months this is the position, I have purchased this machine to be used for another 6 or 7 years. God knows what will happen !!!
KORG Help Me please.
Heart broken...

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... c&start=60One more interesting thing I will tell you Rob... That Hiteshs' backup Folder I still have on my pc ... that is around 28 MB... yesterday when I took the complete backup of my Pa800 before reinstalling O.S. 1.51 and res 1.50, the folder size was JUST 4.8 MB . I was again zapped as I have not deleted any file that Hitesh had loaded on my Pa800, infact I had loaded many .wav files [I loaded Shahids kit and later deleted so that's =0]. The folder size should have been around 38 or 40 MB.
I cannot explain that...

Looks like it Nedim, although apparently Avi's with the same symptoms was fixed by reloading the image files from CD. So there is still some mystery about this, we need to hear from some forum members with a Pa800 and OS1.51 who are doing sample editing regulary. Does it work?
I am going to duck out of the debate at this point because without a Pa800 I cannot do any testing myself. It's up to some other forum members to get to the bottom of this.
Best regards,
Rob

Update - it appears that AVI's keyboard has also failed completely. Despite the temporary respite that restoring OS1.02 etc gave, he told me via PM today that the faults have now reappeared.
Nedim was right all the time. This looks like a hardware problem either with RAM or SSD memory on some of the Pa800's.
Best regards,
Rob

I still hope and wish its a software related issue, hardware would create
bigger problems for users, if its software you just upate it.

Hello Rob & Nedim,
I am not happy at all... I am having mixed feelings... at one end I am undergoing a buyers remorse and at the other end I still love Pa800.. it's sound, styles... etc...
I am worried as I am 800 miles away from Mumbai, India and a faulty machine is a faulty machine... what if anything else goes wrong after repairing and bringing the same to my city? How many times will I travel 800 miles for this machine...
Who cares......

Hi Sandy,
Well I care otherwise I wouldn't have tried every suggestion I could think of to bring your Pa800 back to life in case it was a software fault. Nedim cares otherwise he would not have been advising you as well.
However the User Memory is apparently irretrievably faulty. I believe you may have heard from a Korg representative about this.
If it was my keyboard I would freight it rather than travel 800 miles myself. I'm sure you can persuade Korg to pay the cost of ferighting if the keyboard is under warranty.
Best regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,
I am sorry if I have hurt you. Yes, I know you cared and took lot of pains to do whatever to bring the instrument back to life. Unfortunately it turned out to be a hardware problem. I am very thankful to Mr. Paolo, you, Nedim and others who took care.
Rob, my point of reference was different... it was travelling 800 miles again & again... anyway... Rob, U know I really love Pa800 it is just wonderful... three days back one friend of mine asked which arranger [61 keys] to buy... I said if the budget permits go for KORG & model Pa800 and nothing else...
Freighting my Pa800 !! NO WAY... they handle very roughly... I don't want 'MY' Pa800 to be handled roughly... I am really very possessive about it Rob...
As for charges, no problem... I can bear it comfortably. Thanks.
All's well... if it ends well Rob...
Regards
