Please read the posts by iaoranaemaeva and me and in this thread:
Fast reset procedure
It might cast some light on the freezing issue.
Kind regards,

Hi Tommy,
The Pa800 failure mode may be software or data related.
The Pa2x failure mode is hardware locking up.
I want to keep this thead focussed on the Pa2x hardware lock up, please. There are two different things under discussion. The hardware failure on the Pa2x can not be reset using shift start/stop.
Thanks,
Rob

The problem that iaoranaemaeva and I describe in the other thread actually does result in a hardware lookup and memory corruption and I think that I might be solved by using the procedure I suggest. The Pa800 and Pa2x are very similar machines also at the system level and therefore I thought it could be of interest to you and other Pa2X users.
I promise not to post in this thread any more, although I am a little disappointed being told where to post and not
Kind regards,
Tommy

I have great respect for the work Rob is doing for the Korg Pa community but I think that it should be up to the forum moderators to define who can post in which threads (AFAIK Rob is not a moderator). Generally I am very happy with the rather loose moderation on this forum - it makes it more interesting to read in my opinion. However I still find that it was OK for me to post in this thread since Simon's original question was about the Pa800.
Kind regards,
Tommy

Rob,
Sorry for being a little to fast on the trigger

I am happy to hear that you work with Korg on both the Pa800 and Pa2X freezes.
Kind regards,
Tommy

Rob Sherratt wrote:In the case of the Pa2x lock up failure mode, SHIFT + START/STOP does not work. It appears that all the key and button and LED scanning circuitry locks up. Some LEDs glow brightly some stop working. The only thing you can do is to turn the power off. I'm aware of this problem due to the 3 times it has happened to me.
If anyone else with a Pa2x experiences this "total lock up" problem, please reply on this thread. I will collect all our serial numbers and forward the information to Korg.
Best regards,
Rob
I have the same problem, During a Live Gig my Pa2x Pro FREEZE.
At home it has happened 5 times but with different sound. I notice with my Display in some position STS button doesn't work.
I do now a FORMAT and reinstall OS + Resource and back tot TEST.
I am desperate.

I have the same problem! The notes "hang". It happens randomly, it happened live and it ruined a gig... does anybody has some fix about that??? I performed format and reinstalled the OS - no use! Now what?

After Korg replaced the two display panel boards in my Pa2x, to fix faulty LEDs, there have been no more hardware lock-ups on my own Pa2x. I've had it on soak test where I left it switched on for 3 weeks. I could never do that before, it always used to lock up in that sort of time period. There seems to be a correlation ...

Rob

I have a freezing issue with the PA800. It's when I am in song play mode and use the "lyrics Score" tab to see the musical notation for a particular track in the midi song I have loaded. It has frozen and can't use any feature of the keyboard until I turn off and on again. Does anybody know why this happens?
