OT:  Not sure about that - assuming you're in Milano right now I am some 600 km away from you - so either I'm much much taller than I thought or we are not one person  - take care and enjoy making music! 8)

I will never change my TR for THIS. It looks like a toy. Korg designers really need some brain shock. M3 was very ugly as for me. But this is a top. I haven't seen uglier synth than this. Of course there is still Yamaha MM6 very ugly. Where are people who designed TRITONS and OASYS???? I'm afraid that is the past.

I personally love and have been waiting for something like this for ages. I think it looks good and fit for the purpose. I love the black finish. I am a bit retro myself and still use a rack with M1, Wavestation SR and 01/W. The M50 will look good with this and I could use it as a controller as well and not sell my old rack stuff.

I am checking out the video and mp3's now. Well done Korg I think this is going to go down well.

I love the looks of it. Looks very retro.... cant wait to hear them myself.
The features on this is unbelievable for a lower-end workstation(if thats what it is). Most suprising thing for me is the weight. I'm going to go for this!!!

OH MY GOD!
Well, now Korg is really making heart beating as I've never seen :P
I'm really happy about my purchase, the M3 is going to be a great instrument, supported , developed, always new, even if 2 years old!

Way to go Korg!

Did anyone notice the udpate to the M3 Sequencer....."O"......"MY"......"GOD"......!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope the OASYS gets some of that lovin.

In general when you look at everything the M3 is getting, this must be one of the biggest free updates any keyboard has every got, and I'm not just talking about KORG keyboards. Even the boys in KORG Italy have gone to town on the Pa2X Arranger.

I love the look of the M50 too. Sound be insanely popular.

Well, please, correct me if I'm wrong...
The XPanded version will include a different ROM?
So the ROM chip of my M3 will be phisycally different from new M3 models?
What about expansions, will they be loaded in RAM, so every time I'll have to wait long loading times and reload them every time I power up the M3, or there will be other methods?

Please, help me to clarify the way to use these expansions.

Hi Diego.

I didn't get that at all from reading what was said. They could be using EP-ROM, which is rewritable.

The OS is installed on EP-ROM, so I assume everything else is too.
The other expansions do however sit in RAM as the image suggests.

Yes, I agree sharp!

I'm sorry, I posted my questions here, but on the M3 section there are already posts about these points...
The rewriting of internal sample data sounds nice to me, the fact you need to load every time PCM sounds into RAM ... well... we'll see...
BTW, they are free, and so you don't have to pay for external hardware ROM like you had to to with Triton series...
It's very nice from korg!

No the update revises the internal PCM into memory.

Nope, any unit can be updated this way. Call it smart design...

Yes, the expansions load into sample RAM. You can choose which ones load at boot-up or manually load/unload them as you need. Loading? A small price to pay for 384 MB of free stuff, don't you agree?
