So I should do this despite the fact that the Oasys showed "1.3.3" when I turned it on after the failed update?..
If only for piece of mind that you upgraded completely, yes, I would.

Nice little Prezzy from Korg, even if its a small one, certainly welcome some more Effects.

I'll wait for the list of bugs that people may experience with this new OS before I decided to upgrade mine yet :D

I'm sure Mr Phillips has sweat some blood for this OS release, even if its relatively small.

I would welcome some New Combis though...

Error: failed to update the Oasys kernel
Update fails

I got this message after trying to update from the Global menu...

Should I turn it off and try the other method?
I'm sorry that you've encountered a snag with the upgrade. The documentation which comes with the upgrade has a section named "Troubleshooting." This includes detailed instructions on what to do if you see an error message during the process, and following those instructions would be my first suggestion.

Best regards,

Dan

Almost a year and half for this? We're going very fine. They'll release the next major upgrade in 2020 at this pace.No comment.

One more remark like that, MauroR, and I will have to ask that Korg to be sure that YOUR next update will be the original test beta for the 1995 Korg Oasys. You got that?!?

hehehe,

Let's hope that where 2008 was the year for M3 upgrades, 2009 is the year for the Oasys upgrades! Smile
I hope you are right. :D

Now, seriously, thanx so much Korg for providing us this update, it will help out to calm the stormy mood of the OASYS comunity, at least for a while. It comes in time.

Thank you guys. :D
I mean it.
Thanx Korg.

Dan,

I believe this is some of the best/most detailed installation documentation that I have seen so far. Even went beyond the 'call of duty' by offering Windows users a link to a free iso burner! Great Job!!!

My install went smoothly and quickly, no surprises! :)

Thanks Again,
Rick

Hi Stralner,

All I can offer is a few questions.

You say you have tried about 6 disks now. Did you use the same file you downloaded to make all 6 disks or have you tried Bringing the file down again from Korguser.net? If you made all 6 disks from the same file you downloaded, I would try to download the file again, ensure your anti-virrus is turned off during the download.

Also, make sure anti-virrus is off during the un-zip and iso burn process.

have you tried both method 1 and 2 to do your update?

Sorry I can't help any more at this point, need more info from you.

Regards,
Rick
