Sounds good, ScoobyDoo! And Jamiroquai has delivered many fine songs.

Is it such a nice experience, how the Kronos goes wherever you want it to go concerning sounds as far as I can tell. With a little bit of tweaking you get results quite fast.

Last year I enjoyed a short talk with him after the show: he is an incredible keyboarder with marvellous groove, melodic pitch bending and a lot of soul in the best sense of the word.

And all that after the new Kronos sound packages and before the VSTi-release.
Music life can be wonderful.

Was the Kronos used in your recording of Boogie Oogie Oogie on your page on reverbnation?

Also if you don't mind what pedal did u use for the guitar intro on Boogie Oogie Oogie?

I have seen Maceo half a dozen times dating back to about 20 years ago. He never disappoints. Mo Roots is a must listen for any music fan.

I had the chance to meet him because his brother was my law school professor. Really great experience.

yes - piano, strings and clav. Mixture of samples from Mainstage and Kronos. This was in my transition from Mainstage to Kronos

Our one guitarist just uses a Boss compressor pedal, Telecaster and Blackstar amp. He has got other pedals but not used on this

Vlad_77 - thanks for the comments: can't take total recognition for it, as I'm playing the keys to the Jamiroquai backing. Although I can only echo, our Bass player is as good! Fantastic player!

I can't stress how GOOD this keyboard is. Even with the wish-list of tweaks, it really is a truly spectacular piece of kit. I'm VERY glad I waited, rather than going the Fantom G & M3 route. I'm sure the JP80 is very good, but this thing just suits my playing, sound and style perfectly.

And it works just as impeccably in the studio: I've got it hooked up to Logic and use my KX88 to control it (piano sounds mainly). It sits perfectly with the rest of my sound palette. Even without the plugin aspect, it's pretty quick to run around.

My only complaint? I have to get another for the studio, as packing it up and down every weekend is a PITA!!!

and you feel that it's a better solution than the Fantom G + M3 combo?

By a country mile. The biggest attributes for the M3 & Fantom were the sequencer - which I have NO use for at all. Although Fantom's mouse-use was intriguing!

I was going for Fantom due to it's 500 performances memory - now eclipsed by the Kronos.
The pads on the M3, now available as an update on OS1.5...... I've got a Korg nanopad lying around here somewhere (although I now need to buy a black one to match Kronos! ) Was interested in Karma, of which is now included.

The sounds in Kronos totally eclipse the Fantom and M3 IMHO

+ I've got V-synthXT & an XP30 if I'm desperate for THAT Roland sound.....

The other advantage is that my top-tier keyboard is a DX7s - which has one of THE best actions ever. Subjectively better than both Fantom and M3.....

The biggest thing though is Set List. Not available in either.

Nothing wrong with Fantom and M3, but Kronos (to me) is the next step up..... could have got them used and also a Nord of some sort, but I don't want a Rick Wakeman-esque setup on stage......

The Fantom G actually has the Set List Function and Roland used this for a long time. It's simply the favorite function. It's somehow cumbersome designed, it doesn't have 128 banks with 16 slots but just 16 banks with 16 slots, but it's there and it actually does the same.

So then it works very differently to the Fantom X Set List function? I'm only asking as I decided not to upgrade my X7 to a G7 (when they were still making them) 'cos of the missing Set List feature.

Really interested me as it was a quantum leap forward from my XP30..... but then Kronos got announced.....

let me make sure i'm telling the truth!!!... lol. what exactly do you mean by set list? you mean where you can organize song list in a specific order?
