That's what I thought while listening to the video and noticed you've been using SST while changing combis. Even thought i don't own a K yet, i'm on my way to get me one and your tutorials are a huge help. :D

i didn't use combi's (well only one at the end of the video where the sine arp program is doubled with a pad program). But these are all programs, so standalone sounds. And you are right, the SST is incredible, that makes it possible to go from one sound to another without noticing it.

I use the hold pedal to keep the chords going from the previous sound and then carefully select the notes from the new sound so that they fit in that chord and build up the new sound. Then with the half pedal functionality i slowly release the previous sound. SST takes care of the smooth transition between sounds.

Yesterday i finished the follow up soundset 'Magical Clouds'. This is also an ambient soundset but is more focused on the Rythmic type of ambient sounds. I will post a demo in the near future.

So the final packages for the ambient style will be:
- Magical Space ; pads and soundscapes
- Magical Clouds ; rythmic sounds and leads

So now it's time for my next project, I'm thinking about a Dubstep soundset, but i'm not sure if dubstep is popular among the Kronos users. So does it make sense to spent time on such a soundset or should i do another type of soundset? What do you think?

Qui, I for one would BEG!! you not to channel your creative energies towards the "dubstep" genre, as you have already provided plenty of sounds with rhythmic possibilities (was that a nice enough way of saying please no more dubstep??!!)
I would personally love to see what someone with your ability could do with the concept of crafting seemingly-traditional style instruments (acoustic guitars, electric guitars, wind instruments, plucked, etc.), with a "new-age" twist to them, allowing the Kronos to add shape/texture/movement to familiar sounds. I'm a jazz/rock/folk man myself, so hope you don't mind my personal request

:D

Thanks again for all your work, I loved the first 3 soundsets and still use them regularly in my daily Kronos-excursions!!

Well, then you will be very pleased with the Magical Clouds soundset, there i included a couple of acoustic new age guitars, bells and wind instruments.

I think that the acoustic guitars from that set are really impressive, they use the standard acoustic guitar samples for the attack and then the wave sequences take over the sound for the decay and sustain phase. It's very inspirational to play with those presets.

I will include some examples in the youtube demo i'm going to create this weekend.

One advantage to making a dubshite soundset is that you only need one snare sound

Qui, you are not only very talented in creating sounds, you are very generous and I thank you. Dubstep, really? This is what I believe is sorely missing from the entire Korg library, something for the weekend warior playing covers. Please check out volume 1 and 2.

That would be a dream come true if there were these 80s sound sets for the Kronos :D I think, a lot of people (including me) would buy such libraries.

I must be getting not old or maybe have to wait another 25-35 years to start asking for retro dubstep soundsets from the 2010-2020 decade

Well to be honest i did expect this (that's why i asked here). Dubstep / electro house is really popular in europe at the moment, but as far as i know it isn't popular in other parts of the world. It's quite funny because one of the most popular Dubstep producers called Skrillex is actually from the USA. In my opinion he's the man behind the current Dubstep sound that is so popular right now (a mix of modern dance and old skool dubstep).

Now that i'm going to skip the Dubstep soundset that doesn't mean that there will be no 'modern' dance sounds. I've already spent a lot of time of a 'modern dance set' which contains the type of sounds you hear in productions from people like Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Avicii, BT, Paul van Dyk and many more. I'm using a lot of the sounds from this soundset in my own productions, so they are very usable. What i will do is add a couple of dubstep programs to that set.
