Man, the guitar bug has bitten you hard! Awesome!!! Grab a Sholz Rockman for an extra 50 bucks and offer a "Boston' type Soundest as well. That thing was all analog as I recall, dirty as sin and stood out in a mixBasariStudios wrote:I just bought this for more Guitars, a Guitarist friend of mine has few *over* 5000$ Guitars so God help me.

Gotta say "clever programming" will only go so far. Especially if you're trying to emulate something real. That said, also as an ESQ1 owner, I remember being amazed at the variety of sounds they managed to create. Especially from 32 waveforms! 3osc/voice did help though for sure.rrricky rrrecordo wrote:Simply to illustrate what can be done with some clever programming using existing resources within a workstation. Creating programs from existing content is child's play and a darn sight easier than having to go off and sample your own instruments and create your own programs from scratch.
I'm not surprised it's so cheap. The amount of effort is far less than what it takes to create a new sample library.

Sharp.
The electric guitar samples in the Motif are - not surprisingly - quite ordinary, given the relatively tiny amount of waveform data assigned to them. When the effects are stripped from many of the AXXE guitars, it becomes clear how crucial they are to making the library as good as it is.
Sorry if my post was out of place here.
There are a handful of stock samples the Kronos can't hold a candle to vs. a Motif XS or higher. Guitars is one of them. Rock Saxes (Free expansion from ES series) is another. Sometimes you can put all the lipstick you want on a pig, it's still a pig. To (noticeably) improve the Kronos Guitars, new samples are needed without question IMO.
Korg: KRONOS 73, M50-61, 01W/r
Yamaha: Motif XS7, FS1R
Kawai K5000S, Roland JD-990 w/Vintage Synth

I have the Xs 7 wirh the AXXE patches, and yes, they are awesome. But I belueve there us more potential with the Kronos just by the fact of using modeling and sampling. I will purchase this collection of patches when they become available. The power chord stuff sounds nice and thick. I am still hoping for some good cutting strat lead sounds. But to be honest, I am just excited that someone is putting this to task!!! I wish I was a programmer!!! Nice work my friend!

Yes indeed, Voice Crystal had some brilliant patches for the ESQ1, I still have the carts. The steel guitars were lovely.NuSkoolTone wrote:Gotta say "clever programming" will only go so far. I wouldn't underestimate the Kronos onboard guitar samples' potential though. Filters and FX have helped me make some nice geetars on the Microstation

Better samples like nedim's are always better of course!
