Yes, and at that price it can also compete with the minibrute.

- it suggests Korg is about to release the MS20 Mini, a true analogue synth with mini keys. The post seems authentic:

Kevin.
Cute! And it sounds exactly like the original (I have the original,
since 1982) :-)
I think this will be a top seller. I hope for future re-issues of the MS series. I'd love to see the SQ-10 and MS-50 re-released as well.

And this mans saying 599 usd in the americas... I've been wanting to get my hands on one and the second hand market for the classic has never looked appealing. People will always want more, this year I cannot express the same sentiments.

It's embarrassing how little the demonstration guy knows about it. Even basics such as price and release date, he's totally clueless.

Awesome synth though, those keys don't look too small either! I wonder what this'll do for the second-hand market.

KORG are going to shift some load of these.
It sound really good even in those crappy video's people recorded at the show.

Sharp.

Are there any alternatives to the new MS-20 Mini ? I really like the look of it - I wondered if there was another analogue synth to compare favourably on price/functionality ?

Thanks very much

Minibrute?

The minibrute is probably the most apt comparison. Both the mini ms20 and minibrute will off the most bang for your buck, same price point, etc. Only major difference (besides filter circuits, too) is that the ms20 has 2 OSCs and is patchable. The minibrute has full sized keys and is probably better suited for live playing.

I know its a bit more money, but I am swaying towards the Moog Little Phatty.... I don't like the smaller keys on the MS-20 Mini and I don't like the "toy" patch cables... that is my current thinking anyway....
