The computer guy who replaced my fan with a quieter one for me noticed that there is no protection shield around the power supply and suggested that one might want to clean the dust from inside once in a while for two reasons, it impedes the fan's operation and may make it louder and in case of dust buildup and heat from the board might cause a burning smell and in a worse case scenario could catch fire.
Of course, some people I've discussed this with here, disagree.
All I'm doing is putting it out there for thought and discussion.
I don't know what to think of this, but I'll clean it out within the year and see for myself.

I don't think it's a ridiculous to clean your fan.
I know that my desktop fans on my PC get clogged up and I take them out and clean them once in a while.
I have my old PC hooked up to my telly to stream shows on and when it overheated I took it apart and realised that the CPU fan had got so much dust clogged in it that it had stopped spinning.

Yep. I'm most likely getting one with warranty. There's a dude selling his from a studio. He bought it in August for a project. He's got 3GB installed as well as the karo orchestral expansion? Don't know if that's any good. But all shall be revealed soon. Oooooooo. Drum roll.Pepperpotty wrote:The listing just ended and it went for £1285. I really hope that the burning smell wasn't coming from the synth after all. I have to say there is no way I would have paid £1285 when Korg are selling one on ebay for £1299 with a years warranty.
