It has a sequence editor now and a grid for 8 drum tracks. So all basic functionallity is in place now.

There will be indicators for velocity and gate time in the next version. They will only show up when the mouse is hovering over or changing the graphical velocity or gate time display.

Hey Xanadu

will this work on Pure Data? http://puredata.info/

I don't use ableton and I really don't feel like spending $300 for MAX for live stand alone.

How far along are you to making this an all in one program with no dependency on MAX or ableton? Just an executable for PC and one for Mac. That would be the best help. I would gladly spend my money on your hard work than give it to someone else (MAX). I think the community, here, would agree!

There seems to be some misunderstanding of how to use the Electribe2 Pattern Editor without expensive software like Ableton Live or Cycling ’74 MAX 6.

There is a MAX 6 runtimes stand alone version of the editor included in the package that can be run for free on any recent Windows PC. The functionality is identical (for now) to the MaxForLive version.

It needs (at least) the free Cycling ’74 runtimes for MAX 6 to run, but not Ableton Live. You can download these runtimes here:

https://cycling74.com/downloads/runtime/

Unfortunately I have no access to an Apple computer. So I can’t make a runtimes version myself for Apple. But the MAX 6 sourcefile called ‘Electribe2-Pattern-Editor.018.maxpat’ is included in the package. I believe this can be used on MAX 6 for Apple. You can download a fully functional 30 days tryout version that you can use to create your own Apple runtimes at:

https://cycling74.com/downloads/older/

After creating this it can be used form the Apple runtimes version.

HELP NEEDED! If you have access to an Apple computer and have a MAX 6 licence: please respond on this forum to help me to create Apple runtime versions!

There’s a new version 018 now with display of gate time and velocity values at:

So i tried opening the windows runtime version on my mac and it seems to open fine..... dunno if you actually need to make a version for each OS or if its cross platform compatible....

Xanadu-

Ultimately the best move is to make an all in one app...like what this guy did for the volca keys: http://www.fabriziopoce.com/volcacontrol.html

He charges $8 for his package which includes control apps for all 3 volcas both in stand alone executable and MAX Abilton.

Hell you could turn this into an app with On the Go USB activation.

So tell us what you need to make a stand alone happen and I'll see if I can find a programmer to help you.

Finally I managed to get this project into a single executable package for Windows. I needed to change the build type of MAX 6 to .EXE instead of .MXF.

You can download it here (13 Mb):

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/788 ... or.019.zip

The .ZIP file can be unpacked anywhere on your harddrive, then doubleclick the .EXE file.

I prefer to distribute this as freeware so I don't have to pay taxes.

Help to compile this for Apple is still needed en welcome.

The size of the editor is 1660 x 1000 pixels. Before Full HD came around 1600 x 900 pixels was quite popular. I think I can squeeze it into that. But I like to keep the editor in a single window and show all 64 steps at the same time...

Hey 256K what is the resolution of your screen?
