Let's profile me. So far, I'm a complete cock and a fat geek. I like to toss off to Korg gear. I don't live in the real world, I'm completely blind as well. I'm also a highly religious pre-adolescent, who does not have 10 years Personal Computer experience.
I think I feel a dating profile coming on!

I'm new to the whole Internet Forum thing, this Korg Electribe one is the first i've participated in. Naively, i thought it would be full of like minded Electribe enthusiasts, shooting the s**t about Electribes. And yes, i have found plenty of such people and i genuinely do enjoy conversing with them and listening to their music.
But i don't understand something.
People who express such rage and vehemence against A PRODUCT, why are they visiting that product's forum? Are they hoping for people to say " actually, you're right. It is a piece of crap. Thanks for showing me this. Phew."
I mean, haven't they got stuff to be getting on with?

It's interesting. I think people get invested in thinking about gear, and when it disappoints them they want their pain to be recognized. Even by anonymous strangers.
Also, when you trash a piece of gear, you're asserting yourself over something that "dumb" people like. You're instantly in on something that others can't see.
The same impulse makes people heckle a live performance. Dissatisfaction bubbles inside until someone yells out. "I don't like what's happening, so I'm going to try to ruin it for others." It never works - the heckler feels worse.
It's a cold and pointless universe for everyone. Don't get mad at me because I'm writing dope e2 patterns and sipping fine whiskey from the comfort of my townhouse.
If you want to rage at something, aim your energy at mass surveillance or climate change or the Roland System 1 keybed. (So bad, and only 2 octaves!)
Korg made you a perfectly good funk box. If you can't figure it out, sorry. But don't expect to be rewarded for your dull attention-seeking tantrums.

I acknowledge your pain and your individuality.
Now get those engineering drawings off to Korg so they can recall the e2. Make sure they're in AutoCad format and please remember to use metric values for your increments.

Man, I hear you.
By now I've owned and returned an E2 and currently own an ESX-1 SD and an ES2. I'll admit that at first I wasn't vibing well with the new models, which is why I returned the E2. Now that I have the ES2 and can compare with the ESX, I've come to appreciate the new machines much more and the vitriol makes far less sense to me. They cut back on some features that I agree are useful (and arguably standard) but even in the current state nothing is stopping you from making great music on the thing but yourself.
It's either going to work for you or not and while I'm all about constructive discussions about features some of these posts are so angry you really have to wonder what impact those forum posters expected a hardware music workstation was going to have on their lives.

I'm an Internet Forum veteran and sadly this isn't new...though it varies from place to place. You get people on any type of forum who come there to complain, under the guise of "debate". I'm all for healthy debate, but when name calling and finger pointing enter in, it just ruins the whole thing. And that goes for anyone from skeptics to fan boys.
I think it's totally awesome that we can debate the merits of the Electribe and whether it works for us or not, but this thread is mostly name calling and kinda shitty.

Why exactly are you being such a c**t? Seriously I'm curious? Because the only reason you're giving it all the mouth is because you haven't got the balls to do it to my face! Like most internet abusers you hide behind your screen like the coward that you are.

I don't know why I'm enjoying this negative attention so much.
Sorry everyone for trolling this guy into a tantrum and gunking up this thread. But it's making me very happy.
