Korg Havian 30

I find this to be great news! The interaction between Korg Japan with arrangers means, to me, that the next arranger will be a definite break from the PA3x. I predict a new model that does not continue the PA series numbers. And has different arranger architecture. I'm

My apologies to all... I had no idea it mattered so much to so many how you describe a product!

Thank you Karma for defining what it is. I am sure we can all sleep safer knowing that, unless Korg put the TOTL arranger features in an 88 keyed keyboard, it MUST be called a digital piano!

BTW, what do you call the PA588?

Even Korg themselves decided THAT was called an arranger, despite falling into YOUR definition of a digital piano...

Heaven only knows what we are going to have to call a PA arranger if Korg add Karma to it! I guess we'll have to wait for Karma to tell us...

Despite of someone's expired medicine cure , I want to remind all that "Grand Piano RX" of Havian is not a new digital piano sound but
the commonly known PaSeries Grand Piano RX that can be met in Pa600/300/558 ect , therefore Havian as a product has nothing new to
show except a newly designed 88 weighted keybed and maybe some new piano waveforms , it's actually an arranger like Pa 558 but as
I mentioned before this might hides a significant manifest ... the discontinuation of PaSeries !

Maybe a practice run for Korg Japan, helping them integrate professional arrangers with what they are already familiar. I still say that jumping from 300/600 etc to the next generation top shelf arranger is a huge leap. Something tells me it's possible to envision a hybrid arranger/workstation. Developing a paring down the keyboard options. Just a feeling at this point.

does this indicate that korg might be moving away from current PA architecture to something new (which i would love to hear)..?

Antony - according to the Korg website the Havian piano must have different piano samples than the Pa series.
"The grand piano, recorded in multiple dynamic levels, sounds authentic and natural. "

None of the Pa pianos have been recorded at multiple dynamic levels - they just use different filtering and/or EQ to create artificial dynamics. So it must be different right? If there are true mf and ff samples for instance then it is presumably a step forward from the Pa series. What do you think?

Hi there,

I clearly remember, testing the Havian 30, that the interface was exactly the same as other Pa products. I think there is no doubt about it.

Regarding the country of origin I did a call to my dealer and he told me that it's for sure made in Italy according to his informations and rear panel stickers.

Regarding the piano (as someone commented about): I did not made a side by side comparison, but I clearly remember having a much better feeling against the internal pa3x piano that I don't particularly like. Infact I don't use it (3x internal piano I mean) in favour of the Pa1X bonus piano (that btw I found similar to the Havian 30 one) and other bonus samples suggested in the past in this same forum.
