Well you got the FX carrying over in 1.10! Now only the notes are left, 8 bars and a song mode. Good luck to the Korg elves!

You tell me that after I emailed Korg customer service Germany and threatened to curse them down to the seventh generation and other biblical punishments if I don't get my 8 bars right now.

Seriously, notes carrying over gets my vote too as the most important feature.

But can I have 8 bars/time division modifier per part in the same firmware update?

As long as you have to be aware of long decay notes near the end of any pattern I can't take the E2/ES2 seriously.

It should be able to play these notes when changing pattern. With 1.10 FX tails of the note but carry over not the tail/decay of the note itself

So let me get this straight, Frenzies, when you play live you use the same 4 bar sequence through out the whole song? You never change the sequence because doing that will cut off notes and ruin the grove you spent hours making.

The reason for 8 bars is simple, it’s to keep your audience from getting bored to death. It gives the sequence more variance and makes it more interesting to listen to. It’s in 85% of all the music that plays on the radio. But NO!!!!!! your a rebel and 4 bars is good enough for you.

Having notes continue into the next sequence keeps your grove going. Music is not a mechanical loop that halts suddenly just before it switches to the next section. Is this the effect your looking for? You must enjoy your song grinding to halt and your fans must be very tolerant and forgiving.

You see I have all this great Korg gear and when I play a song I want to be playing it, that’s why sequence chaining would be a great thing to have in the Electribe 2, so I wouldn’t have to change sequence manually and worry about it. I would like to be able to play a song on the Electribe 2 and play my other instruments at the same time. Now that’s a spectacular show!

My last live set was 45 minutes and used about 25 patterns. Not one of the pattern changes ruined the groove, I played this set before 1.10 so I didnt have effect tails either. Nothing grinds to a halt. For me as well as you, we have other gear on stage too, which easily covers any cutting notes from the e2.
Let's not forget that we have 16 parts here. Even if you have 6 parts given over to drums then you still have 10 parts. Put a bass and a couple of melodic parts down and you can have 3 sections of 3 parts on one pattern, mix those up by muting and unmuting and you have loads of variation you can put in a 4 bar loop. I'm not saying I wouldn't love 8 bars, the music I love the most in electronic genres tends to have melodic lines that run over 8 bars, but I knew this when I bought the e2 and I chose to work around it.
I also have a load of other gear to play when I'm doing it live, and I do play it, but I also view controlling the e2 as part of the performance. If I wanted to hit a song mode and let it play I'll take out a laptop with Ableton, but I have chosen not to do that.

I was listening to "Computer World" by Kraftwerk the other day. They changed the world of electronic music with 4 bar and sometimes 2 bar grooves.

-1/8 division clearly needed

-Improve polyphony, note stealed with only 8 parts is unacceptable

-note decaying through patterns

-shift+edit ifx, a level stage after distortion/decimator needed, ping pong delay would be nice, resonance for filters, rate, feedback etc.

-ability to quantize on the beat the gate arp, and to lock it on the first note of the part

-arpegiator

-amp eg button should be motion recordable

-motion step edit

Debug debug debug! Too much glitches. Master fx motion stuck sometime. I encoured some double triggering one time, sound was triggered at the press and release of the pad!

Bah, that's just German efficiency. I, for instance, will manage anytime to be really, really drunk after four bars.

Here is an update that made me think Korg are finally beginning to take notice of their customer base.

I just got this off one of my sales contacts, passed back to them frmo Korg US.

"Just to let you all know that all of these comments have gone direct to the lead engineer the Electribe 2. Of course he has had feedback from around the world and is trying to put together what can be done and what cannot be done but he said to pass on his thanks to Philip."

I think we need to clearly sort what is possible with the current button layout and cpu power from what, whilst great "dream features" would require more than we currently have to play with.

i would really like to play only the midi of a part ... i need all the 16 channels to play all my instruments with e2. and it really sucks that i have to use also the resource of the electribe. if i could use 10 or more parts just for midi, i would have enough ressource for real good sounds left on electribe.

and why there is no mastertune? if i want to go out of the 440hz industry norm
i have to tune sound for sound.

and i really miss the transponse function of the old tribes ..

i got my electribe 2 since yesterday

HEADPHONE CUE or being able to use the headphone jack as an AUX send for signal going thru the MFX

PATTERN SET w/ COMMEN VOICES a mode where all patterns in a set share the same voice on their given channel, as to avoid jumps in sonic texture when switching patterns and allow it function similar to a drum machine
