So angry with my New Kronos X

Considering Korg kronos 2 as potential purchase and reading about these issues is not comforting for especially folks like me who are not that technically adept to begin with. Korg needs to find solution for this quickly. I feel for people who put in full money for what otherwise is a very very good sounding instrument.
A little unrelated but related still - the other day I was inspecting kronos 2 at a store, and realised how the switches, joystick and vector control on it are so flimsy. Do not inspire confidence. While Korg hopefully fixes this bug perhaps it can improve the hardware aspect too as part of kronos upgrade. One benchmark would be the Triton Extreme - built like a tank, and continuing to stand the test of time.

Just want to start of by saying thanks to each of you for all the help, it worked tonight and I am back and running using that LG DVD Player.kfwa wrote:Considering Korg kronos 2 as potential purchase and reading about these issues is not comforting for especially folks like me who are not that technically adept to begin with. Sequencer issues I have nothing but great things to say about the build quality, it is superb.
I play on a real Grand Kawai and the keyboard on the Kronos feels just as good as on the grand, the sounds are great.
I never purchased this as a synth but its good for that to, but prefer to use other instruments when it comes to synths.
I purchased it as a players keyboard and to use the sequencer for quick song ideas in combination with other gear.
I will be honest and say up until the sequencer starting freezing I was so happy with my purchase, and could not believe I waited so long considering I play the keys daily.
I previously used the Artis by Kurzweil and the piano action on the Kronos is so much better and more grand piano like.
I think the Kronos is expensive but if you play keys its a great choice, shame about the sequencer so hopefully going back to 2.02 will fix all the sequencer issues.
Its a very very deep instrument and I am not sure I will ever use all its features.
I am about 90% happy now, hopefully Korg fixes the freezing in the sequencer and they would have a fantastic instrument.
BTW yeah the joysticks could be a little better but over all its build quality is superb.

I'm pleased you're up and running again!
I really should reiterate though that I'm a reasonably heavy user of the sequencer, and in the nearly four years I've owned the Kronos, I've had a handful of freezes. The Kronos is the heart of my studio, and the pros of the Kronos sequencer far outweigh the cons for me.
The biggest pro of the Kronos sequencer for me is it's timing accuracy: extremely low jitter and latency, both for audio and MIDI. Compared to Cubase via a USB MIDI Interface, it is streets ahead.

The audio latency is phenomenal - I measured the round-trip time of a digital signal coming into the Kronos via S/PDIF and out via analogue at just over 1ms - that's ridiculously low and comparable to a good digital mixer. By comparison, the most finely tuned PC-Based DAWs I've seen have not been able to manage a round-trip latency better than around 5-6ms.
This means the Kronos is actually usable for real-time monitoring.
