On more question if I may ...
Do you find the macro knobs for synth sounds very "tweak able" or medium "tweak able"

Yes. The parameters are well chosen and sounds that appear fairly "vanilla" when browsing the presets can have quite a bit of life once automation is applied.

When you change synth presets, all the automation is kept which can have some very interesting results.

I noticed in your cool sound cloud NC recording that reverb and delay add some bit of stereo to the drums so that helps.

Also I think that some of the voices have stereo chorus/flang on macro #7 #8 rotary. I cannot wait I’ll have one in a few days... so all these questions will be answered.

No, the opposite. Automation IS saved in the pattern, which is why when you change synth presets your automation isn't erased.

Hey guys,
I'm going between these two, the ESampler and Circuit. Which one is better for a standalone live performance? I want it to be really edgy and modern, most important factor is quality of sound. Mostly in the Synth department, I'm looking for those killer, attention grabbing sounds.
Is the Korg dated?

Most sounds you can make on a Circuit can be mimicked on a sampler, but the ESampler has a pretty low-rent sequencer
I'd go for the electribe based solely on an actual screen that tells you what the hell's going on

the electribe is probably more powerful (especially the sampler)

but the sequencer on the circuit destroys any korg sequence i have ever messed with. or sp unit

I havent missed the lack of screen.

circuit is fast fast fast..

since getting it i havent dug around on the web.. but before i got it i didnt read any negative reviews other than people wishing it did things that shouldnt be expected with a 300 dollar price point..

Thanks guys. Do either have an arpeggiator?

The Circuit is just such eye candy its hard not to lean towards it. The sampling ability is what draws me towards it.
How complicated is it to sample from a microphone? Say I wanted to sample someone in my crowd and add it to my beat, is this realistic?

the SP404sx can do that with effects-- I think--- but the sequencer sucks too
