now learning bome midi translator, looks great!

but :

What you need to do is ask bomes to store the last output value from the encoder

how do I do this? I'm lost in bome

what are pp, qq, rr, ss, ... ?

I understand the conditional rule system, but how do you store the last output?

I'll keep on learning, feedback soon!

Found it.... (Pasted from florian)

To store a value, just use the "assignment" rule:

INCOMING: MIDI B0 07 pp
RULES:
g0 = pp
OUTGOING: MIDI B0 07 pp

So when any CC07 comes in, the global variable g0 will be set to the value of that controller.

Now if you want to output the direction that it's going, you could do something like that (the controller value can only go in steps of 1, never "jump"...).

INCOMING: MIDI B0 07 pp
RULES:
qq = g0
g0 = pp
if pp <qq>= qq THEN rr=qq+1
OUTGOING: MIDI B0 07 rr

but I went to the bome forums and saw those tips.

I try to do it but I have the problem to convert the final outgoing action into an UP/down keystroke.

I think I don't need to output a rr=QQ+ or -1, but just a rr=1 and a rr=2 kind of thing,

with other lines to define an UP keystroke when rr=2, and a DOWN keystroke when rr=1...

but for now I don't get it.

MT is really complex!!!!

I'll keep trying, and perhaps asking on the bome furums.

Your having the same problem as me, i'm trying to have rules calculate and then output keystrokes and i just can't do it!

How make pads light flashing when clips waiting?

is it possible with farmpad???

i would like to reproduce this on mac with farmpad :

and the only function that i haven't reproduce yet is pads flashing...

- Pad light off = no clip playing OK
- Pad light on = clip playing OK

- Pad light flashing = clip waiting...

Hey I am trying to get my FarmPadKontrol to be setup for Aleton but its taking a bit to get my head around it. This is what I am trying to do...

Its meant to be a pretty Simple first go.

4 Channels = Mute Solo FX-1 FX-2
RED= Ableton Scene Up/Down Endless encoder
RED= Ableton Scene Play button
DBLUE= FX-Sync-Quantize 1/1 - 1/2 - 1/3 - 1/4 - 1/6 - 1/8 - 1/16
LGREEN= FX-1 1-3 selector for switching (delay reverb) in AbletonRack
DGREEN= FX-2 1-3 selector for switching (Beat repeat) in Ableton Rack
PINK= FarmPad scene 1-3 selections

Its not turning out to be that simple now Smile

I cannot get the config files to load is there a certain way to do this i am missing ? like i need to type the location command with the launch command in Terminal or something ?

So the play ableton scene should be set as a "trigger"

The Solo pads will have to be grouped - or just use triggers ?
But with CC's i need to press the pad twice for each state (on/off)
So its two presses for solo=on then two presses for solo=off

The FX sync quantization will have to be grouped or triggers also ?

How do i select or assign the mini-pads (for fx sync quantization) ?
I cant find them in the "Selecting a control" section in the ReadME file.

Got this response from the Ableton Forum ... great idea

you do need to specify the path to the file, the easiest thing is in terminal enter:

farmpad -c

then drag and drop your config file into the terminal to get the path.

I tried typing the file path but this will help eliminate this as a potential problem if i got it right. (but i think it will work)

Hey there.

I just got my pad kontrol and I'm using it with FXpansions Guru.
i have just found out about farmpad and installed it. When I go into terminal and start farmpad, nothing happens on the kontrol. No LED's flash on the kontrol or anything.
In treminal this pops up

"ash-sagars-macbook-pro-15:~ ashsagar$ farmpad
farmpad v1.3.1
------------
Connected to padKontrol.
Entering active mode."


i'm a total noob with terminal so I may be missing some big thing.

Any help would be appreciated. thanks

hi, i'm sorry for my bad english...

i've tried to setup my padkontrol with farmpad...to use it with ableton live...

it's super i never have see something like this......my setup show me only the clips that i play in that moment....and i have 128 scene x 16 pad and i can start every clip in my liveset....
my first scene is like a drum rack....and with the others start the clip...

the other buttons are used to effects on and when i change my scenes the same buttons don't change the midi signal( becuse i have decided that they must have the same channel) so i can use these button effects in every scene for the same efx......

my problem his.......... in my scene my effect is on and the light is on......
when i change program in the next scene my effect is on but the light turn off.....

what is the code that i must use.....

i've tried everything i know.......somebody can help me?
when my project will be finish ....i want to share with web because its too fun....

Hey guys,
Appear to be having issues on this. I start up Farmpad and my PadKontrol does not flash twice like it should and I cannot get any of the commands to work. I am using a MBP 17" 2.9Mhz early 2009. I am connected using the usb. The PadKontrol connects normally using the standard midi in both Native Instruments Traktor pro and in Ableton. I can see Farmpad on the Midi select of both items but Farmpad doesn't connect to my PadKontrol.

Is a Windows version still in the works, or should I kill the dream?
